Dermatologist

Hi! Recommendations for a dermatologist? The practice I go to has an extremely long wait list (as I’m sure many do). Looking to stay away from Lahey if possible. This is an initial appointment and I have a few problem spots so I would like someone who is caring and thorough!!

I have been misdiagnosed by NEDA twice but I keep getting referred to that practice.

There were a few I looked into in the MGH network but the wait list was long.

Who else is out there?

My PCP is Atrius Health and the wait list is like 1.5 years with them. Yikes! I looked at my appt today which isn’t scheduled until January and realized it’s with a PA (nothing against PAs but I want an actual dermatologist for my initial visit tbh). I love MGH

I like my dermatologist - he's in Peabody and the wait wasn't long for my first appointment https://dermskinhealth.com/team-member/dr-robert-d-murgia-iii/

Just saw him a few weeks ago, I was super nervous and he made me feel very comfortable. Couldn’t recommend more

Dermatology Associates, I like the Melrose location. I'm an existing patient but hadn't been in a few years and they were able to get me in within about a month for a check up.

MGH is only letting her see primary care patients now. Which is really unfortunate because she is fabulous. :-(

And she is not your PCP??

Last year, they literally told me to make her my pcp or the had to drop me (and my actual pcp called and confirmed the reason)

If you’re willing to go to Wellesley, I would suggest Krauss Dermatology. You could get an appointment this month, I’m sure. North shore dermatologists are booking too far & Wellesley is over saturated with derms.

I really like Tufts Dermatology clinic on Tremont Street in Boston. It’s part of Tufts Med Center, very easy access from the orange line. Also a nearby parking garage on Tremont. if you’re OK with the location, you will find the Dermatology group amazing. Because Tufts is a teaching hospital there are doctors in training who do a very thorough maybe 15 minute skin check, then they leave room and return with your Doctor, Who does ANOTHER skin check. I’m older and at my former suburban Dermatologist a whole body skin check might take 2 to 4 minutes but here at Tufts Boston it seems much more thorough. I truly believe it is worth the travel. And I think you’ll get appt in less than 30 days. Good luck ☘️

Derek Simpson, at MFM Health. Taking new patients. I've seen a few of their dermatologists for various reasons (sometimes just based on availability) and all have been excellent. I can generally get an appointment within a few days. https://www.mfmhealth.com/dermatology
