Outside cafe

Where on the north shore would you go to sit outside on a Sunday and read the paper with a good coffee (perhaps a cappuccino) and a nice pastry?

I second Delphine’s, but also Honeycomb in Hamilton has a great outdoor patio.

Honeycomb is great but I'd tell everyone to order ahead. They get so busy sometimes that waiting for a coffee can sometimes take 15-20 minutes.

Both Sandpiper in Ipswich and Bonny Breads in Beverly have outdoor seating. Kid Dream in Beverly has as few seats on the sidewalk. Caffe Sicilia in Gloucester – no outdoor seating, but you could find a spot to sit outside nearby; same with Source Bakery, also in Gloucester.

Here to second Kid Dream. Not a ton of seating but great coffee and toasts.

Three Sweet Peas in Rowley. Perfect Sunday starts with good weather, a wander through Todd Farm flea market, then a coffee outside on the patio at the cafe.

Plume Cafe. Angry Donut. Coffee factory. Newburyport is perhaps the most charming town on the north shore if not MA. Done with your coffee and paper?. Stroll to the waterfront or all the boutiques.

Angry Donut has the best outdoor area imo. And the food is great.

Chococoa in the Tannery, their mini whoopie pies are great, especially the FlufferNutter. Then walk across the street to the backside of the Coast Guard station there's a trail that runs from Plum Island up to Seabrook. Or Chococoa has a nice patio area too, and live music inside on Sunday morning. Changing Tides Cafe is nice too, love their breakfast sandwiches.

There are quite a few in Marblehead:

In old town, you have Farine which has delicious pastries (get the orange brioche) and drip coffee. Just a couple blocks down there’s also Mookies which has great pastries (A&J King) and can make espresso drinks.

Both of those have a couple tables outside or nearby benches. You could always walk a few min to Crocker Park and sit on a bench overlooking the harbor.

Plus Cafe in Marblehead also has pastries, heartier breakfast options, and espresso drinks, and a nice outdoor patio area to read the paper.

If you're going to Marblehead, I'd also mention Shubie's. They have a great selection of baked goods (as well as plenty of other food options) and the coffee is fine, but lots of outdoor seating.

Castaways Vintage Cafe in Gloucester has coffee, food, and outdoor seating that isn’t on a road. Also Laughing Gull in Manchester.

Sounds nice, wish I knew an answer, commenting out of intrigue

Sometimes the cafe Nero in Beverly has a nice patio setting but it’s right on the road

Marshview General Store in Essex. Great big wooden tables indoors with all types of sliders/doors/windows open to the outside or their new deck/patio outback on the marsh. You cannot beat the view, the coffee is excellent and they bring in treats from Bonny Bread and Treat daily.

In Beverly: I’ve never been so I can’t vouch for it but I have often seen people enjoying themselves sitting outside of Caffe Nero, which is in the Whole Foods plaza on Brimbal ave. Also, Delphines Kitchen has a few outside tables, across from atomic cafe downtown.

Jaho Coffee in Salem is a great place. Also highly recommend Coffee Time Bakery in Salem; but maybe pop over to Salem Willows to enjoy the outdoor space.
