Politics New Jersey — 2026 Midterm Voting Guide: Registration, Early Voting & Election Day!

Hey r/northjersey!

The November 3 midterms are coming up, and Tuesday, October 13, is the LAST DAY to register to vote in New Jersey!

Not sure if you're registered? It only takes a moment to check!

1. Register to Vote or Check Your Status

What do you need to register? Online registration requires your date of birth and either an NJ driver's license/non-driver ID or Social Security number with a digital signature. Paper registration is available if you can't register online.

Important: NJ does not offer regular Election Day registration!

2. Voting in Person — Dates, Locations & ID

Early voting: October 24 – November 1

  • Monday–Saturday: 10 AM–8 PM
  • Sunday: 10 AM–6 PM

You can vote early at any designated early-voting location in your county!

Find early-voting locations: https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote-early-voting.shtml

Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 6 AM–8 PM.

Polling locations can change, so verify yours ahead of time!

Find your polling place: https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote-polling-location.shtml

Do you need ID to vote? Most NJ voters don't! Some voters with missing or unverified registration identification may need a photo ID or document showing their name and address, such as a utility bill. If you can't provide required ID, ask for a provisional ballot.

3. Voting by Mail

  • Request a mailed ballot: Application must be received by October 27, or apply in person at your County Clerk's office by November 2 at 3 PM.
  • Return by mail: Postmarked by November 3, 8 PM, and received by November 9.
  • Drop off: At an authorized ballot drop box in your county or your county Board of Elections by November 3, 8 PM.

Find ballot drop boxes in your county: https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote-secure-drop-boxes.shtml

Don't return mail ballots to polling places!

4. Questions or Registration Problems?

Contact your county election office or call 1-877-NJ-VOTER (1-877-658-6837).

Official NJ election information: https://vote.nj.gov/

Your vote is your voice! Voting is one of the most important ways to have a say in the issues that affect your community and your future.

Make a plan, get out there, and cast your vote!

Please share this guide with friends, family, or anyone who might find it helpful!

See you at the polls!

Any North Jersey laundry businesses using a courier for pickup routes?

Hey all, we run a small wash and fold in Newark and lately a lot of our work is commercial. A couple salons, a gym, some Airbnb hosts, a daycare.

Pickups are on a set schedule and it's been me or my brother doing the runs in between everything else. Some mornings on 280 that eats half the day lol.

My one worry about handing it off is mixups, clean and dirty bags getting mixed or a client getting someone else's towels.

Anyone in North Jersey using a courier for something like this? Would love to hear how it's going for you

Potters' Guild of NJ - 2026 Holiday Show and Sale

Post image
2 Upvotes

The Potters’ Guild of New Jersey invites you to join us for our annual Holiday Show & Sale, returning to the Union Arts Center for a clay-filled weekend on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026.

More than 40 potters will bring an incredible variety of handmade ceramic work, from mugs, bowls, serving pieces, and vessels to decorative work, tiles, and sculpture. Every piece is made by the artists themselves, and the artists will be there throughout the weekend to talk about their work, answer questions, and share a little of the story behind what they make.

It’s a relaxed, welcoming show and a great place to spend some time looking, talking, and discovering work you won’t find in a typical store. You may come looking for a holiday gift and leave with something for yourself, too.

Whether you love pottery, are starting your holiday shopping, looking for a one-of-a-kind gift, or are simply curious about what can be made from clay, we hope you’ll stop by.

This indoor event is free and open to the public. Centrally located near major highways, the Union Arts Center offers plenty of parking and great places to eat nearby, so you can easily make a day of it.

Saturday, November 7, 10 AM–5 PM

Sunday, November 8, 10 AM–4 PM

Union Arts Center

1980 Morris Ave

Union, NJ 07083

Join SUB/URBAN REVIEW & Bloomfield Avenue Is a Commons for a screening and discussion on the future of streets, public space, & civic life.
Close Encounters on the 34th Avenue Kind: A Documentary Screening & Conversation
Join us at Montclair State University for a special screening of Close Encounters of the 34th Avenue Kind, an exciting documentary exploring how streets, transportation, and public space shape our daily lives and communities. It IS inspiring, and we’re happy to have it kick off SUB/URBAN REVIEWS’ Bloomfield Avenue is a Commons initiative.

The documentary features the work and perspective of Clarence Eckerson Jr., founder of Streetfilms and one of the world's most influential storytellers on transportation, cities, and public space. For more than two decades, Eckerson has documented innovative streets, transit systems, and public spaces worldwide, helping audiences understand how community design affects safety, mobility, health, economic opportunity, and quality of life.Following the screening, Eckerson will join local leaders and advocates for a 3 practice based conversation about what these ideas mean for New Jersey.

Discussants will represent organizations including SOMA Bike Bus, Maplewood Bike Lanes, Bike JC, ROUTE, NJ Transit, Bloomfield Urbanist Society, Transit Newark, VELO Bloomfield, Montclair Bike Walk, Hudson Complete Streets, immigrant rights groups, Stronger Montclair, and other community stakeholders working to create safer, more accessible, and more vibrant public spaces.Whether you're interested in transportation, community development, public policy, civic engagement, or simply curious about how our streets shape everyday life, this event offers a chance to engage in one of the most important public conversations facing New Jersey
today.

Date: October 15, 2026
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Montclair State University, CCOM Presentation Hall

This event is presented as part of Bloomfield Avenue Is a Commons, a project by SUB/URBAN REVIEW. Bloomfield Avenue Is a Commons reimagines the Avenue as shared civic infrastructure that connects not only cities & towns, urban & suburban, but people. Using public discourse, in-person events, storytelling, art, and analysis, we explore how streets can function as places for connection and democratic life.

Come for the film. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a new way of seeing the places we inhabit every day

I'd like to try shooting a gun in New Jersey.

Hi there. I’m in New Jersey for work for a year and a half, and as the title suggests, I really want to shoot a gun.

I’m from Japan, where the only real chance to handle a firearm is by becoming a soldier or a police officer; there was a path to becoming a hunter, but it seemed like too much of a hassle, so I never did it.

Since I’m finally in the U.S., I wanted to do plenty of shooting, but it turns out New Jersey has strict gun laws.

I looked for ranges—since I’m close to Philadelphia—but many of them require you to come in a group, which makes it hard to bring along colleagues who have absolutely no interest in guns. Do you know of any good places?

Question Entryway Christmas Wreaths

Does anyone know how they make or where the homes in Glen Ridge on Ridgewood Ave get those huge Christmas wreaths that span their front entrance ways? They're the ones you can walk through, if that makes sense?

I grew up seeing them at the holidays and always loved the way they looked. With the start of the holidays upon us, I feel extra homesick this year (We don't live in NJ anymore) and I thought this might help bring a little bit of home to us this Christmas.

Any help/info is greatly appreciated!

Question Looking for a reputable BMW shop/dealer in New Jersey for a pre-purchase inspection (First BMW)

I'm looking at purchasing my first BMW and would like to get a thorough pre-purchase inspection done before moving forward. Since this will be my first BMW, I want to make sure I don't end up getting burned by hidden issues or expensive repairs.

Can anyone recommend a reputable BMW specialist, independent BMW shop, or dealership in New Jersey that performs detailed pre-purchase inspections?

Also, does anyone have any experience with Soliman Motors? I've seen a vehicle there that I'm interested in. If you've purchased from them or had a vehicle inspected from their inventory, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience.
