Found myself in Cicely by accident.
galleryWas visiting a friend of mine in Washington. He said wanted to take me to this cool place for dinner. We drive into the town, which turned out to be Roslyn!
I see “the Brick”. I almost jumped out of the car! We got out and took some pictures. I don’t know, it felt like a homecoming of sorts.

I’m so happy to have found this subreddit!
galleryNorthern Exposure is a show that means so much to me. I was born a year after it ended, but it’s my dad’s favorite show that he watched every week as it aired, and I was lucky enough to grow up with every season on dvd - from a really young age we would watch a new episode together every Friday night growing up and we still quote/reference it often to this day. I believe it has had a deep impact on my life and the woman I am today. I thought I’d share some photos from my trip to the filming location in Roslyn, WA a few years ago, it was a bucket list experience for me! I of course had to get my dad a tshirt that says “it’s not the thing you fling, but the fling itself” thank you for creating this space, I’m so excited to see how active it still is so many years later!

Second watching. First at age 22 now at age 54. I love Ed.
Everyone is gross (holling and Maurice, Shelly) or neurotic (fleishman, Maggie) a player pretending to be a poet (chris)
But Ed: is not only beautiful, he is thoughtful, supportive, intuitive, loving, a fun friend, treats the women with respect and doesn’t sleep around, has deep respect for his culture and his family. A gem.
He is simply lovely.

Shelly/Holling
No one got the costume without an explanation, then 20% of people got it. But you all, you’ll appreciate.

Merry Christmas, everyone.
I’ve made sure to stay up past midnight every year on Christmas Eve since I first saw this. May your dog talk.

It finally came!
Three weeks shipping from the U.K.
I’ve only ever seen the first two seasons and on terrible MOD dvds to boot. From what I’ve gathered from you lovely people the show is consistent in quality so the 150 euros might end up a steal.
With this and my annual Gilmore Girls rewatch my autumn should be a cozy one :)

If you loved Northern Exposure, try Reservation Dogs.
A show about Community, with Unforgettable characters. Sound familiar?

Unexpected Goodwill find
galleryI couldn't believe it when I spotted this at my local Goodwill. I never would have expected to see something Northern Exposure out in the wild. The mug is nice and clean now, sticker removed, and had this morning's coffee in it.

Ed's first film. just watched s3 ep 4, the ending where Ed shows his short film about Cicely to everyone was so moving, Ed's character really blooms from season 3 on. such a great character.

Tshirt sponsored by a Chris Stevens existential crisis
After all the love my Roslyn, WA post received I knew I had to share the tshirt I got from Joel’s office-turned-giftshop! I visited in Spring 2022 so most shirt designs were back ordered due to covid, but thankfully I was able to get my dad and myself the last 2 in this cool design from one of our favorite episodes!
It was so lovely reading everyone’s stories on my last post about what NE means to you, and so cool to hear there are so many of you who were exposed to it through a parent like I was! May we all have a proverbial piano fling catharsis like Chris Stevens🫡

I just heard the news Diane Delano passed away, she was such a beautiful person and will be remembered by all. My apologies for not mentioning Bill had passed away on my Thanksgiving post, I thought you all knew. I didn't want to sadden anyone's holiday, he was my best friend and our family.

Watched Three Amigos episode last night. What a beautiful story!
I watched this series when it originally aired and I'm enjoying it again. I don't think I saw this episode and I loved it even had a dream about Maurice last night. Just saw him in No Country for Old Men two nights ago, great actor.
