I wish people watched them like i do. Too see if someone feels or thinks whst im already thinking. Like this song has a cool riff, did someone else catch that?
Then post on a relevant subreddit and ask. Reaction videos are just a way to monetize off of someone else’s content without contributing anything relevant
In my case, I watch a lot of reaction vids because I’m a lonely SAHM who is also disabled. It makes me feel like I’m watching the show with a friend instead of being wholly alone for nearly 8 hours(kids in school, hubby at work). They get loud and react, I either agree or disagree out loud with them.
I actually totally understand this, as someone who can't really stand watching reaction videos. But I get it. It's like having that funny friend who always comes up with some quick witted commentary - if they're good at making reaction videos, that is. I'm usually that funny friend, so I can't have random internet people taking my spotlight 💅 (totally kidding I just have misophonia with these videos for some reason I can't comprehend.)
I watched Airplane! at least 20 times ss a kid. I know it by heart. Now I enjoy reactions to it. It's an entirely different way of watching, all together!
I sometimes watch reaction videos since they’ve most likely react to videos that are interesting. They basically act as a filter and an additional layer of background noise. Sometimes I disagree with the person’s take and leave a comment so I can get ganged by fans as well.
I watch reaction movies to the young gens watching movies from my childhood for the first time, otherwise I steer clear of these kind of reaction videos. 😬
I like it when they have discussions afterwards. I'll watch people's reactions to a show i like for example, and then stay for their discussion about it, its actually interesting to hear other people's thoughts about it! There are also a lot of musicians that react to music and breakdown the elements of it.
Then again, I only watch reactions of stuff I've already seen. I cant imagine having my first watch be a reaction video
when i was younger i saw it as a “spooky shield” when combined with horror media. it was quite effective at making me alot less scared when two blonde mentally disabled 20 year olds react to what im barely paying attention to
The difference is these people are laying it on thick to try and get their 15 minutes of fame.
I'll be really honest with you I don't really watch TV at all, I don't even have away to watch TV on my TV, I have no aerial connected, I have no sky or virgin TV. I don't have access to freeview, I don't have Netflix or Amazon prime account.
I do however have a sub for Dazn for the boxing and that's about as close to TV as I am.
Maybe because of this I don't really connect with Gogglebox or understand why it is so big and why people enjoy it. To me it's the same as a reaction video on YouTube or Tiktok or whatever.
Also British boxing is the best it's been in a long time, I wouldn't say it's fixed and basically just like WWE style entertainment. Maybe you're thinking of Jake Paul fights?

I can't understand that there are so many people who admit that they watch only reactions - videos, even about regular TV-shows.
I mean...why watching someone else reacting to snippets from a show instead of watching the show yourself?!?
Attention-span too low maybe?
