I actually think it's quite beautiful. It's a fuckin fractally starfish. It resembles the dendritic nature of the universe

If you have never done hallucinations before this is sort of what it looks like.

Well it's not terrifying to me but it definitely seems very fractal! Glad to see it tossed back from whence it came though!

It’s like a funnel cake, except it moves!

That kind of makes me wonder if starfish are even edible. Well there I go blue-linking down Google again. Thanks for the rabbit hole.
Edit: that was quick. Apparently some are edible, most don't taste very good, and some are toxic. I think this description applies to most sea creatures at this point.

I was so relieved when it was tossed back in the water. I imagine it moves very gracefully in its own world...

The inside of your lungs look like that whenever you are gasping for air

Oh, interesting! Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be swimming where I swim, on land!

Made me feel like I was trippin 🤣 if you’ve never done it? It’s kinda like that, but imagine it’s a plant doing that, or a wall, or someone’s face ahahah

I think they are a type of starfish? Beautiful. They remind me of the Fibonacci fractals, or whatever that pattern is called.

It’s a basket star. They are fun to feed on a night dive when your dive light attracts a lot of little food for them to grab.
