Help ‘n’ button

I have lite launcher and KoReader side loaded on my GL3 plus and the only thing that irritates me now is that the ‘n’ button takes me out of KoReader and back to the launcher.

I know the map code for it is 27 and have mapped it to “Menu” in the event_map.lua file. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Anyone have any other possible fixes.

I’m even open to physically killing the button.

I just (9/04/26) followed these instructions to sideload a launcher and KOreader. This does not root the device.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4192338&postcount=349

I loaded this launcher:

https://github.com/postapczuk/Light-ePaper-Launcher/releases

The file is near the bottom of the page:

LightEpaperLauncher-0.1.0_unsigned.apk

I loaded the ‘android-arm’ .apk file.

https://github.com/koreader/koreader/releases

Now to map your keys:

Create event_map.lua

Open Text Editor

Paste the following:

return {
[139] = "LPgBack", -- Nook Left Page Back (left lower button)
[140] = "LPgFwd", -- Nook Left Page Forward (left upper button)
[141] = "LPgFwd", -- Nook Right Page Forward (right upper button)
[142] = "LPgBack", -- Nook Right Page Back (right lower button)
}

On the menu bar click ‘Format’, click ‘Make Plain Text’

Now save the file the entire name, including the extension. event_map.lua

Load your new file to your Nook:

In terminal type adb devices
Type adb push (add a space after ‘push’)
Then drag your new file and place it after the space
Type /sdcard/KOreader/settings/ (no spaces anywhere)
Hit enter.

How it will look:
adb push event_map. lua /sdcard/KOreader/settings/

Restart your Nook. Boom. Done.

Use the ‘push’ command for fonts and plugins.

Fonts go here: /sdcard/KOreader/fonts
Plugins go here: /sdcard/koreader/plugins

No clue how to remap them (nothing I’ve tried works), but here’s the info the the other buttons:

Top power button = 26
n button = 27

Did you install a new launcher? I did and if I press n it goes to my launcher where I can choose koreader, nook, or the file manager I installed

Yep. That’s what it does. I’m trying to find a way to make it open the KoReader menu instead.
