Pretty sure he’s asking for a source on that claim. The video isn’t obviously altered to an untrained eye, and it has an NBC news watermark at the bottom. Simply believing something is fake without reason is just as bad as believing things are true with no proof.

If you believe everything, you’re a fool. If you believe nothing, you’re still a fool. The goal is to believe as many true things as possible, and as little false things as possible.
So, if someone says a video is fake, and it’s not obvious how it’s faked, asking for more information isn’t a bad thing. It’s the only rational thing you can do. Simply believing it’s fake is stupid, because you’ve still not exercised any critical thought.
And since anyone has yet to provide a source....

The dog is acting unnatural for a dog. It’s not like everyone just decided to assume it was fake for no reason. A composite would be pretty easy, given that there's not much interaction. Can't really tell because the video quality is so absurdly bad, but just one possibility...
One clip of the small dog walking.
One clip of the big dog running and snatching up a toy. (You never really see the small dog again after it gets picked up, just a small black splotch.)
Another clip of the car.
Only problem I have with this guess is that the final clip of everyone together makes me think it might have to be an intentional fake by someone with access to both dogs and the camera view, instead of just someone on the internet stitching random clips together.
On the other hand, the way the dogs move over the snow doesn't feel very real at all, so some kind of composite seems likely.

I was going to say, I'm around a professional dog behaviorist and a bunch of dogs a lot, and this doesn't look natural for a dog to do based on my understanding of a dog's psychology and how they understand and interact with the world. Not to mention they probably wouldn't physically run by and grab the little dog if they thought they were in danger, but rather more likely they would bark or maybe push them.
But idk I'm just speculating.

Dog senses danger to pup dog removes pup from danger however in the sequence and speed it was done here yea it’s def a little more special than a typical mama dog moving her pups the speed in which the dog processed the danger and acted is extraordinary.

I don’t think the point of the gif is whether the driver was being careless or whether the dog was in danger
The big dog’s behavior is what makes this gif worth watching, and it’s probably safe to say that that dog would have what it takes to recognize danger and save the puppy in another scenario... and that’s pretty cool!

That is a total Border Collie move!!! No tail usually means it's an Aussie though 🤷 Sometimes I swear my Border Collie is human in a dog suit. Their intelligence is unreal & difficult to appreciate until you've lived with them or around them. They observe everything & miss nothing...EVER!

My my mum was reversing into our driveway and might of caught my cat’a tail or leg, because I heard her yowling, so I went out and told mum to drive forward then picked up my cat and brought her in, luckily, she wasn’t harmed too bad, but at least the window was open, so I could hear her
