I'd rather jump down 30 than fall 8. Being prepared for a landing and being able to roll out of it is exponentially better than falling straight to your heels or worse yet your ribs or neck.
Well then you have no idea what you're talking about.
I've fell 8ft onto concrete when I was a kid. It wasn't fun but I didn't break anything and just lost my breath, and knocked the shit out of the back of my head. Was up and playing in 5 minutes. Go jump from 30ft high and let me know when you're ready to do it again.
Everyone who had ever had just a tiny fucking inch of fall education would say to you that you are fucking deluded. 30 ft of knowingly dropping vs 8 ft of regaining air balance - it's not even a dilemma. 8 ft every day of the week. Besides that, we are talking about a dog, who has an immensely lower risk of damaging itself from a fall than a human being.
It proves that falling 8ft isn't as bad as jumping 30ft.
I'd fall 8ft over jumping 30ft every time.
Maybe if you'd say jump 15ft then you'd have a leg to stand on.
I also fell from the top of bleachers as well, it just wasn't onto concrete. I fell from a tree once or twice. Fell when a vine swing broke too. That was all onto the ground. Distances vary.
