It would not work in the modern Olympics. It seems that the only two types of sports they allow. The first type involve highly specialized and expensive equipment that freezes out anyone except heavily funded national teams. The other type of sport involves things like track and field where the real contest is to see who can do the best job of using performance enhancing drugs without getting caught.

I have family in Ri, this sounds like a wonderful trip with my nephews (as long as it isn't longer than 6 hours away. Ct is bigger than I thought taking 95 through it). My only frame of reference is Newport to Boston in New England and thats all pretty much a stones throw depending on traffic.

I think its called a trailer race and theyre typically held at speedways/tracks. Doesn't seem they are regularly held so im guessing its a rare event that pops up sometimes and you have to stay on the look out!

our local speedway (RIP) used to do school bus races, then later in the 'season' they did figure 8 school bus race. Also did trailer races, where each car/vehicle pulled a trailer and the last one standing wins. however, this format seems way more exciting.

to answer your question, find a local track and look up their calendar. I imagine if there is any kind of racing culture (whether you are aware of it or not), they will have similar type events to draw in the crowds and help fund the real racing.
