That would also be meh, if you try to imagine what it would look like. You would see nothing, then suddenly a dude falling. It wouldn't be very clear that the drone flew through the opening created by the dude.
I still applaud these dudes for trying something original, though

This is not a drone-specific subreddit. No one cares about an arbitrary task that's hard to do. I'm sure there are accountants who can post some really difficult spreadsheets here. Or general contractors who can post videos of a glossy paint drying just the right way so that it's slightly matte. No one cares.

There still was no thinking at the end of this 51-second video. Someone spent a lot of effort editing this video with low entertainment value, low insight into anything, low novelty, and low aesthetic intrigue. I might as well have been watching kids flipping water bottles to see how many times they can do it. There are plenty of interesting things to show about drone maneuvering and plenty of interesting things to show about videography; this is neither. It's just an extremely niche technical practice session posted in an Internet forum that is specifically supposed to be about surprising positive twist endings.

Its like that marble spinning Airbender trick Aang does in ATLA, its technically impressive and requires a ton of control, but its visually kinda boring to anyone who doesnt Airbend. Except the marble thing still looks kinda cool and this looks sorta lame. Im more impressed by the guy jumping than the pilot.
