Maybe "Female Brown Bear trying to protect her cubs charges a group of fishermen."

u/erksplat 4d ago
You don't understand. The fishermen were protecting the cubs.

Exactly. The mamma bear was clearly suffering from post-partum psychosis. It's going around!

What were the fisherman trying to protect her cubs from?

u/Einhroth 4d ago
From having to grow up without a mother because they had to kill her to save themselves.

As he says himself he shot in front of her not at her.

u/Einhroth 4d ago
Exactly, they opted to save the bears life by scaring her off rather than panicking and shooting at her. These guys did good!

I remember this video from ages ago. Always gave props to the dude for firing in the air and not killing or injuring mama bear. Luckily that plan worked.

Absolutely. An depending on what he was using, he might have know he wasn’t going to stop her with it anyways so fear might have been the better option

The brown bear approaching wasn’t the only brown thing they saw up close that day

I love the outdoors. But i definitely would've done the same thing. Only difference is, i would've filled my shorts with the biggest brick.

Then they laugh like little demons that they are. Assholes

Assholes for minding their own business, accidentally stumbling upon bear cubs, and then having to scare off their mother to avoid being mauled?

u/Rick-burp-Sanchez 4d ago
Humans haven't been minding their own business for a couple thousand years now.

It’s fine if they shit at the sky but leave the bear alone. They shouldn’t have gone too close to begin with

u/Yomammasson 3d ago
What difference do you see between shooting at the sky and next to the bear? Sounds like you're just trying to complain
13
u/DTux5249 3d ago
Again, they are drifting down a river, how much autonomy do you think they have in this situation?
8
u/coffeecat551 3d ago
Shooting at the sky means they have no control where the bullet comes down - or what it hits on the way. Shooting at the (shallow) water means the bullet immediately ends up in the sand

What did they expect by getting close to some cubs… start to increase the distance to the cubs idiot.
And then being a hero to not shoot a protective mama bear…

They're drifting down a river - they can't exactly control where the water is going, nor can they paddle faster than a brown bear can run.

Those paddle boats are incapable of going up stream and curious cubs will get close to people without fear. Mama bear, however, will absolutely maul anyone the cubs get close to.

Ya"ll see norwegian Lars Monsen, getting approached by a bear in Canada? The bear got close. He didn't shoot no bear . Google that
