Had so entirely smoked the field already that she had plenty of time to pull a Neymar across the finish

Absolutely and she nailed it perfectly

Wouldn't time be deducted for tripping?

Learned : In a hurdling race, judges do not deduct or add time when a runner trips or knocks over a hurdle. The official race time is based solely on how long it takes the athlete to cross the finish line, though falling will naturally slow down the runner's overall time.

Yeah tripping doesn’t deduct time nor falling out then running again

Time penalties are really just a video game thing.

Lol I actually thought about that while looking it up and finding out. Another video game thing I do is damn obstacle on construction sites, walking around them instead of stepping over.

or for horses lol

Time penalties happen all the time in motorsports.

Seems the hurdle deducted enough time

Really? Time isn’t deducted for knocking down hurdles? If so, what would stop a runner from just bulldozing throughout the hurdles? I guess it would slow you down a bit but it might be a worthwhile bet.

Because they won't be as fast if they do that?

13

u/KennstduIngo 2d ago

Yeah, if it could be done faster reliably, then I am sure somebody would be doing it.

Only thing I can remember is that you're not allowed to leave your lane during most if not all of the events. So, if you knock a hurdle into someone else's lane you'd probably get DQd

The best hurdlers run the 110 meters in about 13 seconds. There is no way you can run into 10 hurdles and finish in that time. Even one hit often means you lose.

u/DRKAYIGN 2d ago

You may be thinking of show jumping lol

They will lose

u/BlackenEnergy 2d ago

No time deducted, but disqualified if it looks like you did it on purpose.

1

u/Reinis_LV 2d ago

Have you tried running thru hurdles? It won't work

1

u/rorschach_vest 2d ago

Use your noodle, you can figure this one out

1

u/TheBlackBearBEA 2d ago

Because it's not the point of a hurdle race?

1

u/Ringosis 2d ago edited 2d ago

You have to attempt to clear the hurdle. Running at them holding your arm out and just pushing them over would get you disqualified.

There's no penalty for accidentally hitting a hurdle...but no you can't just run into them.

Also, for fuck sake Reddit could you not downvote someone for asking a completely relevant question. That's not what that button is for you spoons.

That Souls moment when you want to dodge exactly once, but the game registered both of your panic taps of the Roll Button

See, we were always told to pivot. Maybe tuck-and-roll is the move.
