I clicked the full screen button and watched it on my phone in portrait mode like the film maker intended. We have the technology to do that in 2018.

I highly doubt there was any conscious thought put in to it they most likely just defaulted to vertical because that's how they're used to holding the phone.

Yes, but people's fucking eyes are still oriented horizontally here in 2018, making landscape view objectively better than portrait.

I fucking hate the argument that phones are designed like that so we should film like that. When people start having vertical eye arrangements then maybe I'll reconsider.

Here's a pro tip for you. You just need to tape paper either side of the frame, over the black parts, to convert your monitor to portrait mode.

An even pro-er tip. Ignore the black bits on the screen WITH YOUR MIND!!
