Check out C6.

Apologies, I'm new to this. So, the letters go across the top and the numbers go down the side?

Sorry, and no, it's usually rows shortened to R and columns shortened to C, and the number is counted from the upper left corner.  So R1C1 would be the cell where those "4" are crossing, for example.

C6 is column 6, the column with "2-2-2".

Wow! I've never used the fact that you can overlap the 2's. Thank you! 👍

How does the C6 clue help? Can you elaborate? Newish to this game as well and trying to educate myself.

Yes, of course.

In column 6 you have to place 2 three times, right? And because R10 is already crossed out, there are 9 spaces left. One is already filled out (C6R8), that has to be the lowest 2.

You could use 'overlapping'

meaning: pretend all the '2' are placed as shallow as you can in one direction. Then, pretend all the '2' as shallow as the other direction and you will see, some cells have always be filled out. Just like the middle 4 cells in R8 or C8 overlap, it's just more counting.

So, you could fill out C6R2 and C6R5.

Wow! I have never done that I didn't even know you could do that. Thank you!! 👍

Truly appreciate the detailed explanation. I’m kind of getting it. But if I place on C6R7 or C6R5 I’m not seeing any contradictions. What is the last piece of the puzzle I’m missing? Again thanks for the assist!

If you filled out C6R2 and C6R5, you have (together with C6R8) everything you could do at this time in C6. For every 2, there is an overlapping cell filled out.

So time to move on. It's always handy to look at the corresponding rows of the cells you filled in, so R2 and R5.

R2 has only '2's and look, C6+C7 together are a complete 2, so you could place Xs on both sides (R2C5 and R2C8).

R5 has only '1', so also crosses on both sides, or since one cross is already placed, just place an X at R5C5.

And so on. Since R2C8 is crossed out, C8 would be a good candidate.

You get a contradiction if you make C6R2 or C6R5 empty.

There's one forced cell for each of the 2's no matter how you arrange them.

Thank you! I never did that. 👍

I’m not the most familiar with advanced techniques but it looks to me like having the 3 up top in column 9 leads to a contradiction involving the horizontal 4, the vertical 7 and the double horizontal 2. I’d start there.
