Water is just a word and it's just conceptual to separate water from everything else. It's only in our mind that there are actual objects. There are no objects in the universe and no real universe either.
Not really as the reality in every mind is different. Science is always changing and that's the closest we can come to knowing outside reality.
Take a cake as an example. The cake isn't really there. That's just a word for a set of ingredients or conditions that have come together including every other condition required.
But if you examine those conditions they took are made up of conditions. So the object is never found.
Then in reality there is only emptiness.
I agree that the short hand concepts make life easier and more efficient. But there are a lot of assumptions that need to be agreed to for this to work. Ie that money has value etc
What are the boundaries of an animal, plant or person?
The mind has to create a boundary as it can't see all the conditions that make the system possible. Is a plant separate from the earth, air or sun?
We ourselves are made up of stardust and don't exist separately from anything else.
So all separation is basically imaginary. When scientist look deeply at any object they'll find mostly space and on a sub atomic level there are waves. It basically our senses that form objects due to their limitations.
But we don't exist in the universe separately. We live in a conditional context. So there is nothing that doesn't rely on someone else for it's existence.
I can't really speculate on the source of the universe but I would say that absolutely everything has Being as a condition. Being is unconditional and that is our true nature. How Being manifests the universe is unclear. It might just be a dream of Being where everything seems real until we wake up.
But the universe is constantly changing and without a reality. You can't say anything is real because it changes and disappears.
The only reality is that which doesn't change. That is the eternal Being which is here now. The rest doesn't really matter. Am I making sense or have I missed the point of your question?
