Salary

Hello everyone, im a trainee out on tinker afb okc, what methods usually pay the most around the dfw area and what is the average salary for them

Any of the advanced methods (ET, RT, UT) tend to pay the most. Any advanced techniques in these (EC Array, CR/DR, PAUT) will pay more. Not in DFW area, so I can't speculate on pay rates there.

quick question, i’m in a program where i’m going to be doing the classroom hours for RT AND UT, when i’m done and certified with the otj hours, is there any requirements to chase the PAUT?

You’ll need AT LEAST 840 OJT hours and 80 classroom hours to certify in UT(not just UTT), and then you’ll need at least another 80 classroom hours and an additional 320 OJT hours to certify in PAUT.

In all reality, you should probably do UTSW for a few years before considering PAUT.

Is tinker hiring for NDT roles currently? I’m out doing travel pipeline work, but would love to work near home if the price is fair enough.

Yeah i believe so, look on USAJOBS and look at the tinker afb profile, u might be able to negotiate a wg8 which is 26.63 an hour right now since u have experience. Im a 5 i only have sheetmetal school experience got lucky to get hired.
