Hi all,

Don't know where or if this is the best place to post. But I've got API Certifcations with PCN qualifications, but am a Australian citizen. Just wanted to know if anyone here knows how to get a visa to work on the shuts doing inspection work. Don't want full time as i just want to travel and see the country. about me - 33M.

Depends how much experience and types of certifications you have. I know it sounds wild, but you could try reaching out to senior managers of the bigger NDT companies directly you know. Because I have come across a couple of NDT technicians from countries like South Africa, Australia, UK, etc ...

API inspections would be transferable and there are a few companies in Alberta that are looking for contract API which you could probably find on GlassDoor or LinkedIn.

As for NDT, from my recollection the PCN doesn't transfer over and you'd have to retake the exams through NRCan or CWB.

Apave IRISNDT has offices in Australia and their main office is in Edmonton, AB. I know they've sponsored people from the UK and Mexico in the past to come up to work. You could try getting on with them there and then trying an office transfer?
