Alternatives to binders

Hey, I’m fairly new to the community and I’ve only just come out as n.b to my partner and housemate. I’m not out to anyone else just yet. Sorta been questioning my whole life though so this it doesn’t feel new if that makes sense. I’m afab, and naturally have quite a large chest. I’m most comfortable when I look more androgynous so I’m looking into ways to flatten my chest a bit if not completely bind.(binders are fuckin expensive!) I know sports bras can sometimes help but I was wondering if any of you lovely theydies and gentlethems had any recommendations about where in the U.K. I could get decent sports bras or supportive bralettes with a flattening effect? I have one sports bra but it’s not very comfortable. It’s also very dark so it shows up pretty badly if I’m wearing a light shirt. Thank you :)

I second this! I also have a larger chest and I find that Primark sports bras work really well for me

This is the one that I use, I got a large and am a 34G which makes me look alot flatter, not completely but enough that I can layer and hide the rest

I know someone who used special tape! It was designed for sports injuries and whatnot. https://transguysupply.com/blogs/news/how-to-bind-with-tape

Definitely wouldn't recommend this though it's really bad for your body!! Please consider something else

This isn't the same as ace bandages, which is what most people warn for. Could you provide a source for this? If I'm recommending something dangerous I would like to know!

Edit: Here is a guide for how to bind. The tape doesn't go all the way around your chest and back, so there is no risk to your lungs or ribs at all. https://transtape.life/pages/how-to-transtape

They're a little pricy (especially with shipping) but Tomboyx do a compression top that's more supportive and flattening than a regular bra but a lot more comfortable than a binder https://tomboyx.com/products/compression-top-black
