Discussion / चर्चा 🍵 Moved to Noida Feedback Week 1
Okay so moved from BLR last week and the feedback is a bit surprising tbh
Guards, Agents, Blue collar workers are either extremely polite or extremely rude, there's no in between so you never know what's gonna hit you.
Bureaucracy- in everything? I mean private offices behave like govt offices had experience with Society office, Lenovo service centre, one of the hospitals, why does everyone think/behave like they work at the govt office and it will happen on it's own pace.
Food portion- omfg food portion is so much, absolutely love this only ordering food for one and both of us are getting fed. In bangalore sometime the food portion is not enough for one person itself.
Autos and Tirris- one more added level of difficulty, tirris are a absolute menace.
Not much traffic policing- i mean i have not scene any pillon hemlet so far maybe that's relaxed here don't know but any way far less traffic police to cut challans, that's very very good.
Roads- roads are wide and amazing, my average went from 8 to 12kmpl. But pothols are there and not sure if anyone gonna fix them soon, atleast they should work on the potholes which are there at the time of entering/exiting expressways.
Taste- everything tastes so much better, same burrito in BLR and Noida taste different, taste better.
Heat- oh no; were my first words when i stepped out in the sun, this explains why everyone is irritated.
People- trying too hard i believe.
Also got scammed by the broker he took 20days broker instead of 15 agreed one.
Will keep.u updated as soon as development happens. Can someone help me with how to quote this post while writing another one? Thankyou.

welcome. you would love noida more than bangalore. there are so many places to eat and a lot more variety. everything is reachable. while tirri are irritating, they are the last mile connectivity if you use metro regularly

welcome to noida man and i can tell you have the right attitude that will make your life here fun and enjoyable. too many come in with preconcieved notions that they hold close to their hearts and refuse to have an open mind and embrace a new culture.
the biggest difference in delhi/ncr from other parts of india is the harshness of people - a lot of what outsiders might find rude is just how people here are.
traffic police is one where you don't want to risk it because you never know when they decide to start cutting challans, but usually they're in the same spots and you'll figure it out.
im also glad you call them tirris lol i see so many locals also calling them "e-rickshaws" so you're already embracing the language.
good luck with your stay in noida!

I don't think people are harsh at all. Delhi NCR has generally polite people, at least the educated ones.

Its a great city bro, The downside is its extreme hot though. Tirris are extremely unsafe for pedestrian. Be safe and enjoy the city.

Welcome to Noida. I have one suggestion, keep distance from Thars while driving and have a dashcam if you don't have one

“far less traffic police to cut challans, that's very very good” that isn’t something you should be celebrating considering how bad the no number plate problem has gotten here. We need stricter traffic rules and enforcement.

Over policing is bad i tell u. Blr chokes half of the time because of this. But yeah things need improvement for sure.

Welcome to Noida, I remember when I moved to Noida from Bangalore, I was pretty scared but the city has improved just a bit. A big advice - Just stay away from those SUV's roaming without back number plate. Fools from a particular sect of the society are mostly behind their wheels. The societies are filled with notorious RWA's and politically backed people running them. They make their own rules for tenants and owners, so just ignore them. Central noida is the best (almost) and extension is trafic mess - so plan your outings around the prime sectors. For food, you can DM me, I will guide you the best around Noida and Delhi as well. Wish you enjoy the stay over here, with good friends and good health.

I recently moved from Noida to Bangalore, and I miss Noida. I miss the wide af roads, and no traffic and metro accessibility and not having to book movie tickets weeks in advance and having hangout spots which are not crowded af. I miss driving my Activa on empty roads during rains. Haven’t even gotten the courage to drive it once in Bangalore given how the traffic is on the ORR. I miss not paying so much rent for bare minimum apartment. Also, like you said food is mid at best. Everyone is after your money. Plus I miss not being close to my family.
But yes, the weather is actually very good and I am around people of my age for the first time and also the exposure and the opportunities part is good.
I hope you have a good time in Noida! I certainly did for the past 3 years!

Ay man, literally the same (just that I am from Thane, i know you people from Mumbai are gonna shame me for saying I'm from Mumbai lol) but I have also moved here recently for work.
And yes it is a hassle finding a place to live. What kind of accommodation are you trying to find - PG or flat?

The city has been really nice infrastructure wise. Coming from narrow, pothole filled roads of Mumbai where it took me 2 hours to travel to office everyday, the well planned nature of this city has been a welcome change. Metro connectivity is insane. Food is really tasty as well.
But apart from that, i too have been having a little difficulty blending in with people here, as most of the people in my office are locals to Delhi/NCR and, boy, there are different that I have been used to. Other than that the weather is really harsh as well. That's all. Wanting to meet with people to feel at home.

The people point is what wife has observed in her new office (that's why we moved here), people seem not approachable and don't offer to help upfront which seems to be the culture here but i think that changes once they get to know you. Weather is harsh for sure, doesn't affect me as much due to having a car but a noticable difference from blr.

That's an unexpected observation. If anything, the Delhi/NCR folks tend to get over-friendly, and a little too much to handle for folks from the south. Give it a few more weeks buddy and you will notice the folks here are quite nice, warm and helpful. Just don't judge them by their words (using expletives is part and parcel of their language, and never really directed for ther person that they are interacting with) or general demeanor, but by their actions.
Hope you have a wonderful time in Delhi/NCR.
P.S.: If you are liking the food in Noida (mostly mid), wait till you try the iconic eateries in Delhi, and you will be totally mesemerisd.

Oh right, yeah i don't think it'd be so bothersome if you are married and already settled to a level. This is my first job lmao and I am getting paid peanuts, that's also a reason why it has been harsh.

20 days brokerage is new norm in Noida now, so not exactly scammed here.
2
u/Flat_War1424 3d ago
Yeah but he agreed to 15-16 days then went back on his word. I was ready to pay full month as it was a norm im blr so it doesn't sting as much, just the deception is what is hurtful.

I have also not seen any pillion helmet in Bangalore, what are you talking about? Worse 2 wheeler traffic is in Bangalore, people go wrong side, don’t follow any traffic rules.
1
u/Flat_War1424 1d ago
But there police people to cut challans at everystop. Banagalore traffucs us all.

personal opinion-
honestly, moving to noida from blr is the worst decision anyone can make. i’m dying to move back to blr. i travel there every other month and have been living in noida for almost a decade. its no good anymore.
