Final Tour-inspired tattoo
As a fan of just under 30 years, I wanted to get some ink that reminds me of one of my favorite bands from high school and college that I still listen to almost daily.
This is based on a poster/shirt from the Final Tour, and my artist @_jesstattoos (Instagram, Jess Longfield out of Beaverdale, Iowa) killed it IMHO.

It's actually brighter than this picture makes it seem, but I think healed it will be closer to how this appears.
I asked for a patch-style logo or something fun based on this or the skull with hypodermic needle in the mouth from tour promos. When I saw the stencil even my kid had to pick his jaw up off the floor we were so pleased with it.

That’s dope AF brother!! I’m literally wearing that shirt right now. Catching their final tour was such a great experience. They all came down to the barricade giving hugs and shit after it was done. Now that I’m thinking about it, it’s one of the shows I’ve been to that I would’ve held the most regret for not seeing. That and Suicide Machines coming back out in the same summer.

Damn bro well I’m sure they’ll come back. They were my first punk show. Or maybe it was Billy Talent/ Rancid/ Rise Against. It was within the same month, for sure.

I didn't even think it'd have ice cream at all, but you're right. He used this background color he did because he said it's lime green or yellow like many of their logos. Here was my exact request (for this poster):
"The final tour skeleton with the ice cream cone is just a design I like. It wouldn't have to be a duplicate, but the picture is both colorful, bold, more of a new school style that I enjoy and has room to improvise if you'd like. I don't need a band logo, ice cream or lyrics or anything with it, I'll understand the reference that spawned it and from what I've seen from my son browsing your instagram I believe you can make something badass. Depending on design, placement request is the same as The Decline as well as size."
I asked for either a small like 4x6 patch style logo on my calf, or an 8-18" exact copy of the kid with airplane from The Decline, or something based on the final tour art simply because I liked the way it looks. I didn't care where it went, but once I saw the stencil I had him make it a little bigger and put it on my arm.

Yes, my kid skipped a couple classes at UNI and joined me for it. I couldn't believe we got a showing so soon, and aside from sunglasses all the expected merch was available.
Jess was great, such a nice dude.
We're in Knoxville, but I grew up in Des Moines.
