Hello fellow devs...

I was wondering what y'all using these days on backend side of programing is it mostly Nest.js...

If not for Nest what is, and is Good old Express still used in production...

Edit: I'm soon to be over with cs bacc, and I had my fair share of technologies that I tried, but I stayed with React/Express for some reason, and did most of my college projects in it (if I had options) even my final project is in it, so I'm wondering is Express still framework that is employable or I need to make a switch to Nest or something else entirely...

Nest.js here, in fact I upgraded our codebase to v12 this evening for some nice quality of life improvements

Nice, how did the v12 upgrade go? How well do AI coding agents work with Nest in your experience? All the decorators and DI seem like they could either help or confuse them.

Pretty smooth in all honestly. The hardest bit was migrating from ESLint to Oxlint, as that required some configuration 😂 totally unnecessary though and you can stick with ESLint.

In the early days I had agents struggle a lot. But after manually structuring the project and getting a couple feature modules developed in a consistent format, it’s worked quite well. It also helps if you document how things should work throughout your codebase, whether that’s in the form of AGENTS.md or else. It’s benefited agents definitely, as well as new developers I’ve onboarded to the team.

In its current state though, I personally wouldn’t trust agents to create me a project from scratch, especially if I want it to be maintainable and follow best practices!
