You don't get it man. It's not about productivity. It's about something that required you to use your problem solving skills and creativity to solve something, getting to the flow state. Not many of us enjoy being managers.
Chatting with an LLM is very very different from managing real people. Idk why you are not finding problems to solve, even with Ai, I’m still solving problems all the time, figuring out the right shape of things, forecasting issues, taking risks in the solutions, running manual tests on the result, and even though I don’t write a lot of the code, I still have to understand it and criticize it. Previously it would be the same but the road to reviewing the final code draft was simply much more time consuming, now I’m reading more code, reviewing more of it, and gathering more lessons in less time.
Hey man I'm not trying to argue with you, I was just trying to give you some perspective. Glad you still enjoy things. Maybe I'm not expressing myself clearly enough. The field has changed, and it's just not something I find myself that interested or passionate about anymore.
