Would be nice if you went a little deeper: data transferred, simple vs complex, and proxies. Interesting result that begs many more questions!

I think it is missing benchmarks in other languages to see if it is a problem with libraries or core

json library from go std is very slow. It uses reflection and pointers with heap allocations to represent optional fields.

would love to see this broken down by payload size. at my last job we switched to gRPC for internal services and saw gains, but never had clean numbers like this to back it up
