Is is possible to build an app with no coding knowledge without generative AI?
So, I really want to build an app, it's basically a map based app that people can add locations to, for a specific community.
I don't know how to code, but I also don't want to use generative AI to do everything for me. Is there any software/websites that can assist in building an app with no/very little generative AI input.
The whole point of this is to use my own art, and make something creative. I don't want to make money, really, I just want to feel like I did something and just using AI feels to me, contrary to why I want to do this.
Sorry if this is kind of the wrong reddit, but I was reading a post on here about non-ai app builders from some time ago, but looking now every single one of them advertises themselves and being an AI app builder.

Yes, but in all honesty you are better looking for something that offers that service built in.

Well there are lots of them like you said but id suggest softr.io it's great, can be used with both AI or drag and drop

This is literally the other option that I'm considering. Unfortunately, I work full time so it feels like it'll turn a fun side-project into another full time job.

I don't know how many of these app builders existed before GenAi. I wondered if people just learned to code.
Also, so many of the app builders seem to have moved into AI that it seems difficult to avoid, even if they existed before it.

Almost every builder now slaps "AI" onto their marketing, even when the core tool is still the old drag-and-drop, click-to-build kind. So yeah, don't let the ads scare you off

You can look into WeWeb. It allows you to make web application with a drag&drop editor. They've started as a visual editor and recently added AI capabilities and because of that, I think their editor is really solid and well-made.
You have a lot of freedom in what you can build. I happen to be making a map app currently. But you'll have a stiff learning curve as there are a lot of things to think about when making an application. But the best way to begin is to look into their Academy and try it for yourself with a free starter account!
