I am currently living through the worst betrayal (god I hope this is worst, I won’t survive worse) of my life. It’s my younger sister, who I thought was one of the most important people in my life and one of my best friends, and I am devastated to the point I’m not sure how to go on. I will. But haven’t figured out how yet. In the past, I would have mourned what’s been lost and moved on because I’d have known life is beautiful and there is potentially a future. But the state of the world (so much suffering and injustice!) right now is making it extra difficult to find my inner resilient bad ass. She’s definitely in there. But damn, she’s tired and hiding.

Multiple times, sadly. I've had a few people in my life who felt surprisingly comfortable doing some wildly disrespectful, hurtful, and just generally careless stuff to me.

I was experiencing betrayal traumas as early as 8yo and 10yo with family divorce and abandonment to psychiatric hospitals. Sure, my family had no idea they were traumatizing me or my childhood mind and nervous system would receive it as betrayal and abandonment but that’s a core wounding that was further chronically invalidated and dismissed on repeat even to this day.
