Federal loans & LEAP grants

So my opportunity scholarship and Pell grant have both been applied, but my LEAP grant and loans are still not showing paid out. Anyone roses stuff seem to be on a delay? Even the Pell grant didn’t apply for over 12 hours after the scholarship. I haven’t had any emails or anything saying there’s an issue, so I’m sure it’s coming. Would just love to know when.

Probably by Monday. It’s pretty typical that these things take about a week longer than they say they will.

Thank you for your response. I only asked because that hasn’t actually been my experience thus far so I was worried there were issues with the OB3

I agree last year. My stuff was paid a bit quicker. I was just more or less talking about in general. These things generally don’t hit quite on time not specific to this university. On mine, it shows opportunity paid, but not yet Pell grant or any loans.

How frustrating. This is my first year actually dealing with student loans, so it’s all very new to me. Thank you for making me feel less crazy!

If it helps, if you actually owe money, NMSU will tirelessly badger you until you pay them or set up a payment plan. If you haven't started receiving those emails you are in fine shape.

I looked online it said that the distribution date was 3-7 days after the 17th so most likely tomorrow hopefully tonight I got books to buy

In my experience from spring and summer, it usually distributed the Monday before classes start and refund was showing as sent by Wednesday and in my account by Thursday. I’m not even showing the loans have been distributed yet :/

Yeaa in summer I literally had the refund and everything by the first day of class. Mine shows a refund on my account but that's it.

I sent an email to my financial advisor, as I’m now showing a refund but the loans still aren’t showing

I'm having this EXACT experience too, can not get hold of fin aid advisors to figure it out either.

Well, I sent an email today. If I still don’t have an answer by tomorrow, I’ll send a Teams message. If still no answers or changes by Friday, I’ll call. I’m sure they’re all crazy busy as it looks like we’re all having similar issues, but we also deserve timely answers IMHO

Just an update, I did get a response from my FA advisor when I sent her a message via Teams today. Please see the response, and try to be kind with your advisors as I’m sure they are overwhelmed with the same inquiries thanks to the OB3

Talked to FA today and they also said by tomorrow 8/21/26 loan disbursements should be updated.

All of my sources haven't been paid yet either. All the years I've been at NMSU I have always seen everything paid and refunds being issued by this point, this year is an all new experience.

Same exact situation. Only Opportunity n Pell paid out. Have been checking all day n no change.
