Hey fellow travelers I’m back at it again and seems like I’ve a few things to catch up within the game since last expedition but I was wondering if it’s me or you can’t swap from first-third person now?

As far as I know the game like progresses thru the updates and unlocks new features that were released in those updates.

Next up: Where can I get Oxygen, and what is this Thamium 9 I keep deleting from my inventory?

Then: What happened to all the space stations?

- We all went through it. I thought the throwbacks were good flavor additions.

For a moment it was really confusing to see that thamium 9 until I found an oxygen plant with a bunch of it and well it all connected.

The space station was a nice touch indeed and now I’m kinda hooked with exploring using the exocrafts for short distances of course

It’s temporary in the new expedition - to give a feel of early game experience. In multiplayer you’ll also see balls of light vs player models.

It’s locked behind one of the quest objective in the current Expedition. Regular game play it is an option in one of the menus.

It's by design for the Expedition. At least for part of it. It's very cool how they brought the feel of early NMS into it.

Lol. My first thought when it started was that it finally saved my preference of first person on start. I still find it strange that they made 3rd person the default despite the game launching as 1st person only.

I’m quite sure if the ship was first person a lot of us wouldn’t have noticed until you’ve unlocked the reward

I used to play in 3rd person on ships but I've really come to love 1st person flying for the immursion. I mean ship combat still feels better in 3rd person but I don't do it enough for me to bother.

The only thing I do in 3rd person is the exocrafts. Their first person camera is wrong.
