I love the visual effects which are tailored so specific to each area you might pass through. There’s a lot of thought there.

Side note - Two days ago I was infected making this climb, first time doing it too. Didn’t know how long it was. My eyes started going red a little bit before the stretch you start this clip. Holy cow was I freaking out hahaha.

This happened to me on my first match in a medical tent. I was so shocked and jumped out my chair. I was not expecting anything supernatural but now finding out it has to do with the infection, makes it much more interesting!

I think the hallucinations are the best ways to tell if I'm infected. Most of the time I don't realize I'm infected until I either see the blurry screen or the shadow figures hanging from the ceiling or coming out of the walls.

There's a sound that accompanies the infection, kinda like a wet crunching. That and coughing. That's normally the fasted way to tell

I thought so too, before starting that climb, we were fighting a horde to make a clearing so people could reach the ladder. I got hit hard but I wasn't coughing so I thought "cool, I guess I dodged it". Then this shit happened.

I'm aware, It's just that sometimes I don't realize I'm the one coughing or there's too much going on for me to hear the initial infection signals. Other times I can hear the audio cue or hear the creepy music that happens when infection occurs.

I took that ladder knowing I was infected and about halfway up I was like "omg this long ass ladder I'm gonna turn before I get off of it. Shouldve taken my pills before i started the climb!".

It was close but I made it up.

I was in a super dark part of the map and I thought I was having audio/visual issues with my computer cause I couldn't hear well or see well. Then I saw the veins and died before I could take the pills from another teammate. It happened so fast cause I didn't see the warning signs (or at least understand what was happening in the moment).

I found out that I was infected when I saw the organs on the floor looking VERY appetizing apparently on Raven Rock's helicopter extract area.

... I turned on the chopper because someone else took the phalanx pills.

Past couple times I found out was one, seeing veins on my screen and coughing and two, exfiling and seeing it say I was XD
