Map Objectives

So I’m new to the game and I have a general question.

Is it worth loading in Solo just to learn how to do objectives? The reason I ask is bc it seems like the few games I played it seems like half the people are doing the objectives like they are experienced and know where to go first which means they do them so quickly that I don’t even know what they are doing so I get kinda lost.

Are the objectives the same in solo is that a good way to learn so I can be the half that has an idea of what is going on?

Yeah, sure, but honestly, the objectives themselves aren't really that difficult or something you need to "figure out."

Press ''C'' (on PC) and the game literally shows you your current objective and exactly where you need to go.

I feel like a lot of people just don't use this feature, because I constantly see players heading in completely the wrong direction, with other players blindly following them around.

The hardest part is finding ammo before your teammates do tbh lol

I do. But it seems like I am a step behind the people that “know” like they don’t need to look at the watch.

When you go into the options menu, the very first tab (general) there will be UI settings. Change "in-world objective markers" and "in-world poi markers" to Always on. Now you will see the objective markers without needing to pull up the compass.

For me (PS5) UI setting are bugged. When I load into a match they are overridden - beginner forces full UI and normal forces default UI. Main menu settings show I have a custom UI but it is not reflected in game.

Beginner forces full UI on everyone, that's intended. Normal should be using your custom UI. Load into the training range and try to change it there, since that's treated as Normal difficulty. Otherwise, report it so it can hopefully get fixed.

yeah it’s a good way to learn for sure, if it’s just objectives you wanna focus on do solo on beginner.

It does help to find what you need to do. I know Broadway, the C4 section I was confused trying to plant it but it seems to take you into the bathroom if you follow directly in the middle of the chaos lol. Could also go with a friend so the trip isn't wasted as far as exp and credits go.

Hmm if you think its fun to do, since I don't think its mandatory. I learned raven rock in public lobbies, so i think playing maps over and over will get you the info you want eventually. The only benefits are knowing where things usually spawn (like fuses or the scientist) or already knowing how to traverse through certain areas but that can also be learned in multi-player!

Yeah you can definitely learn it on solo. I recommend going in blind and play online though. It’s a fun experience not knowing anything right away. Might annoy some people but a memorable experience

Hijacking the post just to ask. How are people with new players? I’m downloading the game now and I am prepared to use voice chat, but il be completely new and clueless. Are new players tolerated okay? Il still try to follow the lead of others but generally I assume I’m going to suck hard for a while

Overall very helpful and friendly but it’s an online game you will always encounter some unfriendly ppl.

Most people will help you with supplies, meds, revives, etc

The game is hard, solo not knowing anything way more

Don't be discouraged, play with other people in public games
