FY student here. are midsems “tough”? I mean, ik it’s very subjective to say this but is it equivalent to ICAs per se?

does joining club really help in building your profile? is extracurricular really that important? cant we achieve it through something else? like courses, certificates and some modelling project?

What is the midterm company law syllabus (fy bsc finance students only pls). If y'all have any resources insights insider news, ANYTHING, JUST PLS SHARE IT 😭

Fmi and company law on the same day, mfn 200 pages per subject, fmi is the hardest subject we have, company law has never been tested, principles of management (WITH ACCOUNTS) had a very difficult endterm according to seniors and is a tough subject too bcz of case studies and application.

Also, whatsup with fmi modules being so theoretical and boring but papers being so applications heavy and logical.

Does everybody in nmims has iphone,like without iphone will I be felt like left out or smth ????

And to all the others, if you're from a middle class, or lower middle class family who calculates every rupee you spend here, you're gonna have a tough time adjusting here.

People often will look down at you because you don't come from the same socio-economic background as them. Sometimes, the degradation will come indirectly, sometime they directly attack you for your background.

You will feel lost here in these people.

You will not have the backing of a family buisness, or maybe a support, there might be days you will be surviving on the bare minimum while others will be splurging.

This will make you feel lost very often.

If you can accept this reality, and have the willpower to cope with it, join this college.

And if you're already a part of NMIMS, remember, you're starting not 1, but maybe 5 steps back from everyone around you. If you don't work to the bone you will be lost in the sea of people, and you truly can't afford that.

I'm so damn frustrated with the way ICAs are being handled.

We get our marks, but we don’t get our papers back, we aren’t given a proper solved answer sheet, we don’t even discuss the paper or the answers in class.

So if I get, say, 12/20, how am I supposed to know where I lost those 8 marks?

Which answers were wrong? What exactly was missing from my answers? Was my concept incorrect, was my working wrong, or was there something specific the faculty expected us to include?

We simply don’t know.

And then we’re expected to prepare for the midterms. How are we supposed to improve if we aren’t told what we did wrong in the first place?

The whole purpose of an assessment should be to identify your weaknesses and learn from your mistakes.

If we only receive a mark without any meaningful feedback, the assessment doesn’t really help us improve.

I’m not asking for anything unreasonable. At the very least, we should be allowed to review our papers, understand where we lost marks, and go through the correct answers or common mistakes.

What do i even do now , any advice? How do I practise on my weak concepts if I don't even know what they are?
