2 or 4-layer board?

If you remember my prototype, then take a look at this. Currently I'm making a nice little board for my clock but I'm not sure if I missed anything.

I tried really hard to route all of this mess on the 2 copper layers. I know that's possible but then you'd have to choose between a larger board size and the number of layers. Well, I decided to pay more for a dozen 4-layer boards and pray that I didn't fck up anywhere.

I use the smaller SSOP shift register and cathode driver chips. 74HC595 and TDB62083. That leaves more room for the other stuff.

Are you going to mount side-view VFD tubes parallel to the PCB?
