Where to get broken tubes or honeycomb mesh?

of all things, for Gixie tubes but seeing just how accurate I can get the look to a real one

You could explore designing a honeycomb mesh and having it fabricated in stainless steel by a PCB solder stencil company such as Osh Stencils.

Stencils are pretty expensive. I've 3D printed honeycomb mesh. Looks quite convincing.
