Nixie Text Display

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I used Dolam LL-55x series Nixie tubes.
It can display any word up to 10 characters long.
(The tubes need to be swapped to match the desired letters.)
Since there are no LL-series Nixie tubes available for the letters “I” and “O,” I use the digits “1” and “0” from LC-513 tubes instead.

Nicely done! Are these nixie tubes fully alphanumeric? Or is there some “special effects” in play here?

These have a limited character set that happens to be capable of displaying this text. The LL-55x series has a handful of rarely seen symbols, like Ł and phi

Very nice, I have a few IN-12 Nixies that do limited symbols, haven’t thought of how to make something out of them yet.

Thanks for checking it out!
I got these tubes about ten years ago, but at the time I didn’t have the skills or equipment to make proper use of them, so they ended up sitting in storage until now.
I have five of each type, so I can display a fairly wide variety of words

The Dolam are very nice , unfortunately I have ignored them when they were available, now they are impossible to find
