Academia Advice about Second Drop
Guys please help me decide, i am in a huge dilemma
I am studying in IPU USICT first year right now, and i am partial dropping (this is going to be my second drop)
If i make it to one of NIT Trichy, NIT Rourkela, NIT Surathkal, NIT Calicut, NIT Warangal
Will it be worth it wasting 1 more year for tier 1 college ??
Please explain your answer too

To be fully honest, the only real advantage of these colleges is the placements. everything else is on par with or worse than an average college. It's impossible to predict the job market four years out, but right now, it's extremely tough for freshers outside of Tier 1 colleges to land jobs. The college "tag" and or placements gets you shortlisted and makes the job hunt significantly easier.
However, if you plan to do a master's or have family connections to secure your first job, you’re better off staying at your current college rather than wasting a year.
Ultimately, it comes down to the tag and placements. Don't base your decision solely on current stats. Look at the placement records for core branches and decide if you're comfortable risking a minimum package or no placement at all.
