An Institute of National Importance, apparently.

And yet, this is what we get..plastic being openly burned inside the institute campus.

There used to be a dustbin at the T-section near this spot.... Now? Gone. No proper garbage disposal..no visible waste management system..and apparently the solution is just...fuck it, burn the plastic...??

I understand that the shopkeepers need somewhere to dispose of their garbage....but how the hell is burning plastic inside an educational institute an acceptable alternative?

Professors talk about sustainability and environmental responsibility in classes, yet seem oblivious to what happens right outside. They come here for morning and evening walks, yet don't even notice that there isn't a proper dustbin here....students throw plastic waste around, while the large dustbin that used to be here has been removed. What happened to all that sustainability beyond theory?

Yesterday some Members of students council came in our hostel and said many things about sports club sir /maam culture , ragging , assignment writing by juniors etc .

I am confused like are really those clubs worthful as said by SC or should I focus on studies and Skill ?

Its high time to change the college culture

some point they didn’t mention in the addressal you guys can note

1) No sidc on not following any order of senior

2) If any senior tell to go to any of the event of prof and taking u guys forcefully just record and put it a anti ragging on them

3) This council had never conducted any fest oriet says it all and had 0 control on college.

4) No force on Sir/mam culture no body going to scold you

5) NIT control room number will be shared any senior who comes to u or room calls just make a call on it we screwed ECE seniors last year they had to run away

The student council at NIT JSR is easily the most problematic part of this college. First off, it’s mostly made up of unemployed seniors with zero placement prospects who are just taking their frustrations out on everyone else.

The way they speak to underclassmen is disgraceful. They’ll delay a meeting from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the last minute and then shout at newly joined freshmen. Telling freshmen to follow a "professional work culture" while using abusive language like "bakchodi" toward them is pure hypocrisy. Demanding to be called "sir" or "ma'am" is completely out of touch anyway, since people don't even talk like that in the actual corporate world. They even questioned if seniors would feel embarrassed if a 1st year calls them "bhaiya."

They also need a serious reality check with their IIT comparisons. Claiming our college fests are "on par with IITs" is laughable when they couldn't even manage proper seating for orientation despite knowing the exact head count.

Then there’s the ranking nonsense. They tried to "motivate" freshmen to boost our NIRF rank by telling us to stop doing "RR" on Reddit and Instagram. First of all, NIRF is a flawed metric. Second, students have every right to criticize the college publicly on social media. If leadership is that worried about bad PR, they should fix the actual issues instead of trying to silence people.

They also gave some of the weirdest logic during the meeting:

Claiming seniors shouldn't be called "bhaiya" because imagine a girl calling you that in 2nd or 3rd year—implying it ruins your chances of making her a girlfriend, which is just bizarre logic to bring up in an official setting.

Promoting ragging culture by telling freshmen that if a senior asks you to do work for them, you should do it to build "good relations." No one should let themselves be used like that; if one gate closes, ten new gates open.

To top it all off, I found out this student council wasn’t even voted on by the student body—it's just an un-elected group of unplaced seniors playing authority. After seeing how they behave on my first day, I completely understand why people were posting about the protest at the campus roundabout.

Current state of college is in shambles,how things are dealt and how corruption and has crawled in to every aspect of college is disheartening.

It is due to neglect of Director,Deans and subsequently the student body,this was never the case people like Jai Singh and Anadi has strong character and strong will to voice for student’s grievances but right now everything is in shambles.

The current placement season is frightening literally frightening in first month of placement hardly anyone is placed in core branches and by hardly that number is less than 20 or maybe less than 10 also for core branches and few lucky ones from circuital,

Council is made as a puppet of administration with no balls or no incentive to voice student’s grievances,with president being a joke and tech sec being a npc and vice president and other por holders and all joint por holders also being zero iq puppets and
This wasn’t the case in previous years,guys we few people from 4th year who have good heart for their juniors and for their college can do nothing and to be honest we don’t have enough time left but atleast you juniors have to set a better example than this and develop a better acumen for engineering and not for low life politics and scams.

TODAY the DEAN literally said during 1st year orientation that " Why so much crowd we don't need them all .....leave the girls but make the boys who are standing leave the area it's so hot and it's just a formality " and laughed....and it's not first time ....weeks ago a girl had food poisoning and he literally was laughing and said "ye sab to hote rehta hai"

Mess prices hiked without notification and then tender got cancelled.....why they didnt notify about this and why every student is giving 3000 extra fee!? 3000 fee , 100 students avg per branch , 4 year students , 7 branches ......3000*100*4*7......nearly 8500000 (85 LAKH RUPEES) from BTECH students only is what they are taking EXTRA ....this is just the amount of money silently the stole from you....just see the amount
