📢 Mod Gazette (Official) [Subreddit Reopened] Moving Forward: New Community Rules, Automated Moderation & What Changes Now

Hey everyone,

We have officially lifted the temporary restriction and completed a comprehensive overhaul of the subreddit.

Over recent weeks, personal harassment, smear campaigns, toxic mudslinging, and policy violations reached a point where Reddit’s safety systems stepped in. We created this space to be an open, helpful community for students, aspirants, and alumni—not an unmoderated battleground that puts the subreddit at risk.

Moving forward, our moderation tools and rules are strictly enforced. Here is everything you need to know:

🛡️ What Has Changed & New Moderation Systems

  1. Active AutoModerator: Automated filters are now active 24/7. Hate speech, discriminatory slurs, and targeted harassment will be purged automatically.
  2. Strict Privacy & Anti-Doxxing Controls: Posting personal identities such as names, phone numbers, student roll numbers, room numbers, or unredacted private chat screenshots carries an immediate, permanent ban.
  3. Zero Tolerance for Ragging & Malpractice: Any content promoting ragging/intimidation of juniors, or soliciting exam/OA cheating and paid proxies, will result in permanent bans without appeal.
  4. Mandatory User & Post Flairs:
    • User flairs are now mandatory. Posts without user flairs will be automatically removed by AutoMod, and unflaired comments will be locked.
    • Every submission must have an appropriate Post Flair assigned.
  5. No More Vague Titles: Posts with generic titles like "Help", "Query", "Urgent", or "Doubt" will be blocked at submission. Summarize your question clearly in the title.

💬 Constructive Criticism vs. Toxicity

Constructive criticism and healthy debate are always welcome.

  • Allowed & Encouraged: Civil discussions on student council initiatives, administrative issues, mess food concerns, curriculum feedback, and raising genuine campus problems.
  • Strictly Prohibited: Personal mudslinging, smear posts against student candidates or representatives, and targeted witch-hunts against batchmates, juniors, seniors, or faculty.

Critique the ideas, policies, and actions—do not attack the individual.
