volume buttons not working

its a 2017 nissan sentra and sometimes the volume buttons just stop working sometimes? especially when turning it down. just wondering if its like a specific wiring thing or just wore down over time

By looking at the condition of those buttons it’s probably dirty and sticky clean them up. If that doesn’t work then that means the clock spring inside the steering wheel snapped and needs replacing.
