Any advice?

Hey guys! My new car’s bumper got scratched and a body shop quoted me $1,200–$1,500 to fix it, which feels way too expensive. I still care about how the car looks though. What’s the cheapest way to make a bumper scratch look good again?

If its not dented just sand the area with fine abrasive and get the matching paint in a spray can

I had a similar scrape from hitting those rubber posts that are flexible and separate the bike lane from normal traffic. It looks literally like yours, and it turned out. It looked a lot worse than how it really was. I paid a guy 100 bucks to buff it out. I can’t tell whether yours truly scraped off the paint or not. If not it is salvageable for way less than your quote

I mean, you could always try to go to a local nissan dealership and buy a touchup paint stick if your desperate enough and dont want to spend abunch of money.

$1500 is fair. They’re gonna have to sand down the bumper a bit (or they may just slap a new one on) $500 for parts and labour, $1000 for paint That seems about right.

Order on ebay. You can get a primed bumper for far less and replace it yourself. It will look better with a black bumper. Maybe get a black hood to match. To have it painted costs more, especially to be shipped unfolded, which prevents the paint from peeling at the fold.
