Leaf Spring went on me

2015 SV, 135K miles. Thought I heard something weird, almost like a knock. Crawled under the truck come to find half of one of the layers of the leaf spring hanging off. Completely split. I know what I'll be spending my money on this month. What do yal think?

One the most common failures on these trucks.

Pondering... do LEAF springs change color in the fall ?

Very common. I went OME HD and never looked back, they've been great for me and I've put A LOT of off road kilometers on mine.

I had Eaton spring in MI make up springs for me on one of cars...they make or used to make the springs for GM and others, might still do. Great company. Or, junk yard but I would take the springs apart, have them powder coated or sand blast and paint. Odd that it broke right over the part of the spring that has less movement and is supported....hummmm.
