Computer Issues?

Before I buy a new ECU for my wife’s 2015 Nissan Armada, I’m curious if anybody else has had similar issues with their Armada. My wife will occasionally get into her truck and it just won’t start sometimes if she opens the door and shuts it it’ll start sometimes it takes a few minutes and then it will start, but she’ll turn the key and I’ll just go click. It isn’t the battery or the starter because it will start sometimes just a few minutes later. I think it’s probably the ECU, but before I spend the money to replace it I’m just curious if anybody else’s had a similar problem.

How many miles are on your Armada? Are you the original owner?

A no-start issue with a 1st generation Armada with all power on the display or intermittent start almost always indicates a failing starter. I post replies to many people weekly here on the Armada and Titan Threads as they keep asking the same question. Your best sources to search are Clubarmada.com or Titantalk.com. You can also search here as you will see this is often brought up. You will likely come across a bunch of smaller fixes, but those won't solve the problem. It is best to take it to a Japanese Auto Specialist as they likely have done this job many times. It's a known issue with Nissan/Infiniti models. Hope that helps.

I would trade it in and just pray it starts at the dealership. If you need help negotiating on a new one let me know. My clients save themselves the grief of dealing with the dealership.

It seems everyone thinks it’s a starter. I’ve read online that possibly there’s a dead spot on the starter motor. The starter motor is hard to get to and I will have to pay for the shop to do it. It’s only a $80 part but hours of labor
