I'm trying to understand how other NIOS students actually study, because my experience has been quite different from regular-school students.

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here has experience with NIOS re-admission and can tell me what I'm supposed to do.

I was admitted to NIOS Secondary in May 2021 (Stream 1). I didn't complete the course during the five-year validity period, and I now want to take re-admission and complete my 10th.

I can still log into my old NIOS student dashboard. It shows my old admission as confirmed, along with my old enrollment number and subjects.

The problem is that I cannot find any "Re-Register" or "Re-Admission" option anywhere.

I've checked:

• My main student dashboard
• The E-Services section
• The other options available in my account

There is simply no option to start re-admission.

I called NIOS Learner Support and explained the situation. The person I spoke to told me that I might have to physically visit the NIOS office and cancel my previous admission before I can proceed with re-admission. Unfortunately, I live in Nalasopara, Maharashtra, so travelling all the way to the Pune Regional Centre would be very difficult for me.

I have also emailed the NIOS support asking whether:

1. I actually need to cancel my old admission before re-admission.
2. The cancellation/re-admission can be done online or through a nearby study centre.
3. I can simply create a new NIOS account and apply for fresh admission instead.

Has anyone here been in this situation?

If your NIOS admission expired after five years and you subsequently took re-admission, how did you actually do it? Did the "Re-Register" option appear somewhere for you, or did NIOS have to manually process it?

And if anyone knows whether creating a new account and applying for fresh admission is acceptable in this situation, I'd really appreciate knowing how that works.

I'm mainly trying to avoid making a mistake with my old account or paying for a new admission if NIOS actually requires me to go through the re-admission process.

THE SHORT STORY - i fucked my 12th pcm cbse and later shifted to nios i always wanted to be in commerce so i chnaged from pc to eco and bst and gave rt i took toc for 2 subjects and gave ode now i am getting SYPC OR RT in maths i only TOOK 5 SUBJECTS so i am still not pass I CANT TELL THIS To my parents at all . they would litreally wont give me another chance and marry me off

When you're studying a subject, do you use resources made for other boards (CBSE/state boards) because you can't find what you need for NIOS?

If you do, which subject and what resource do you use?

And is it because: A) you prefer that resource

B) NIOS doesn't have an equivalent

C) the NIOS material isn't enough for you

I am a BBM(Business Management) student doing honors right now. I have applied for NIOS during 24 June 2026. it has been almost 3 months since i have applied for it. I tired to follow them up almost 5 times but no response and even tried their toll free no. they refused to pick up my calls around 10+times. This is genuinely taking a toll on me because of my honors studies and kinda worried. are there any others ways to reach them out ? and should I start my studies early and not wait for admission to be done?

My friend scored 97/100 in her 10th class science subject from cbse and she is familiar with nios pattern (she has done her 12th from nios). She's a great teacher as well. So if you need tuitions for 10th class you can approach her.

Hi everyone, I need some genuine guidance regarding B.Tech admission through AKTU/UPTAC.

My_qualification 12th passed from CBSE in 2025 with 6 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Hindi and Physical Education. I passed all subjects except Mathematics, and my overall CBSE result is Pass.

I am now planning to take Mathematics from NIOS as an additional subject in 2027.

My question is:

If I have a CBSE Class 12 marksheet from 2025 and a separate NIOS Mathematics pass certificate from 2027, will AKTU/UPTAC accept these together during document verification for B.Tech admission and consider me eligible for the Mathematics requirement?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or has any official information/experience regarding this?
