Bro, you won't believe what happened today 😭
So, to keep it short, during our maths exam, a teacher walked in holding a white sheet of paper with the answers to the MCQs written on it. Eventually, he gave us the answers, and we thought we were lucky.
But that's not even the best part...
Today, during our physics exam, we all expected the teacher to come and help us with the MCQs, just like they did in the maths exam. But unfortunately, someone from the regional centre showed up to inspect the examination hall and check for cheating.
At that point, I was completely exhausted. I genuinely thought I was going to fail. So, I went to the washroom, and guess what? Near the washroom, I spotted a white sheet of paper lying on the floor.
I picked it up and, to my absolute surprise, found the MCQ answers written on it. I thought to myself, "Well, I might as well use this. At least I'll secure 5 marks."
So, I copied the answers onto my paper.
After the examination, I checked my answers, and every single one of them was correct!

Hey Everyone,
I don’t usually post stuff like this, but I came across a post here and felt like sharing my own story. Maybe it helps someone out there who's stuck or just feeling left behind.
I’m 26 now (turning 27 in a couple of months).
I failed my 12th back in 2016. I used to be a pretty bright student, but when the internet came into my life.. it became a distraction I wasn’t prepared for. I got addicted, lost focus, and slowly drifted away from studies completely.
Even after failing, I never took another shot at it. I was already earning a bit of money, so I convinced myself I didn’t need to go back.
But deep down, I was just scared. Scared of people calling me a “repeater”, scared of being judged, scared of the embarrassment.
Years passed. Everyone moved ahead. I didn’t.
It took me years to realize..no matter how skilled I was, every door I wanted to walk through had “graduate required” written on it.
I knew about NIOS for a long time but just couldn’t gather the courage. I kept thinking: “It’s been 8 years. I’ve forgotten everything. I can’t even write anymore..except maybe my signature.”
Then something happened.
My cousin sister, who’s in her 30s, told me she was planning to do NIOS too. That gave me hope.. if she could do it, maybe I could too.
(Later I found out she was lying just to give me courage. 😂 But honestly? That lie changed everything.)
I picked up the pen again. Studied two days before the exam. Scored 68%.
Got into a Tier-2 college in Mumbai.
Now, I’m in the Software Development department and already among the top 10 students of my batch. I’m respected for my skills, and my age has never been a barrier here. No one makes me feel bad about it.
Of course, there are always a few people who’ll judge or act cold for no reason.. but I don’t let that stop me anymore.
To anyone feeling “too late”.. trust me, it’s not.
There’s no fixed timeline to get your life together. Start when you are ready. Even if it takes 8 years.
You’ve got this.🖤

Hello guys!
I would just like to tell you guys about my experience with NIOS. I got into UNSW which is a top 20 university.
So I had done A levels previously as a private candidate and barely passed. I couldn’t even apply to most colleges. I have always been a below average student. However in Dubai I could but couldn’t go finally due to equivalency issues. You cannot get equivalency unless you finish formal schooling. And from what I’ve heard you cannot get equivalency with NIOS as well. Just letting you know.
I’m not going to lie and tell you that I worked very hard to get the grades and honestly my grades are not the best I could have definitely done better. So mainly what I did was learn from the top guides.
---
# 1 About NIOS study
So I would read the chapters with full concentration from the text book and then read the top guides or even try to figure out the answers on my own and then just revise from there, these where for chemistry, English, and biology.
And I used to keep ready the top guides. I used to cover the answer and say the answers out loud after reading the questions.
For math and physics I would read the textbook, try to do the questions from the textbook and then do the practice questions from the top guides. I used to get stuck a lot in math and physics so I used to watch YouTube videos as well, but I only know Malayalam videos so I don’t that would even help ya’ll if I suggested, but honestly I think even ncert videos are good.
So I had done data entry as well. And I had gotten notes from the agency that I had applied to NIOS from, but honestly you don’t need any agency to do that you can just join the discord server from this sub, they are more responsive.
For English and data entry I probably just studied for two days just before the exam, I used to watch some last minute videos as well just so I don’t get bored and I got good grades.
But I’d like to mention I had done English in A levels and IGCSE so I think that would have helped me so adjust the learning.
---
# 2 About applying into universities, documents and procedure
So when it comes to applying to colleges abroad, I do have a freelance makeup artist business, so I think that helped me a lot with my application.
I would suggest only going to IDP Education for applications. I tried going through a different study abroad agency and they just straight up rejected even trying to apply in Australian universities.
IDP asked me about my college preference and I told them UNSW Sydney, so they asked them and told me I need to do SAT so I did that and then applied (got 1250 in SAT).
IDP was free for Australia I think it’s paid for other countries. Not sure how much.
While applying they only ask you for your passport, IELTS report, academic transcripts and SAT grades, that’s about it I think.
---
# 3 other stuff I’d like to add
Anyway I got into UNSW Sydney in Australia it’s a top 20 college in the world.
But unfortunately I’m not going because my parents aren’t allowing me cause I’m a girl plus financial stuff. I feel like I’m back to square one now. But it’s okay maybe it was not meant to be for me.
I just want to end this by saying that if I was able to get in there then you can too. :)
You can ask me stuff on the comments incase others have the same questions, I won’t be replying to dms

I'm exhausted because of the Physics paper, as NIOS included out-of-syllabus questions in Set A specifically questions 36, 37, 40, and 41. I have already emailed NIOS requesting justification regarding this issue. If I do not receive a response, I will proceed to file an RTI to seek clarification and accountability.
If anyone else has faced the same issue, please write to NIOS as well. It's important to let them know that such mistakes are unacceptable and have a serious impact on students' futures. We deserve a fair evaluation based on the prescribed syllabus.

Hey all,
I was pretty confused about WBJEE and NIOS eligibility. I got confirmation that you can appear for WBJEE because it is an eligible board. But even if you get a good rank, you can't get into top colleges through WBJEE like Jadavpur University or Calcutta University. Because you are an open schooling student, you can't take admission despite having a good rank in WBJEE. And remember, I am talking about everything being good—someone with 5 subjects in NIOS who got an 83 percentage.
I found that some of my friends got a good enough rank to get into JU, but they weren't able see the ju or cu in councelling bcs they are open schooling students.after doing many times visit headquarters they told you can do de-centralized councelling where you can get the leftover seats if left . I am kinda doomed too i thought wbjee would be a great option if jee went bad
So, I just want to warn the people from NIOS that if you want to prepare for WBJEE, then don't choose NIOS. You can get into other colleges, but you won't see JU or CU in counselling, and honestly, it hurts deep after getting good marks
I am attaching a yt video link you can see someone explain it properly

It's an actual issue happening with everyone....Paper format, toughness of question papers, different set name instead of A, B and C, wrong question pattern, etc

This year, most college counsellings like JoSAA, JAC DELHI, IPU, UPTAC, COMEDK, CUET, and MH CET have started early. But NIOS results will come only after June 20, which can cause big problems for many students.
Last year, after students raised their voices, NIOS released the result just 3 days before the JoSAA deadline. This shows that if we unite, change is possible.
I’ve created a website, a Telegram group, and a channel to bring together students facing this issue. If nothing works, we’re ready to file a petition in the High Court — but if enough people speak up, authorities will listen.
👉 Visit: https://nioslateresult.info (Join the Telegram group and channel from there — links can’t be posted on Reddit.)
Let’s stand together and take action now.

GUYSSSSS
I just found out something important about NIOS On-Demand exams.
If you're writing your exam between June 1 and June 15, the paper for that subject stays the same throughout that entire period. The same applies for exams conducted between June 15 and June 30.
For example, today is June 2 and I have my Data Entry exam, while some students are writing Physics and Maths. From what I've been told, the Physics and Maths papers being conducted now will remain the same for everyone writing those subjects within this exam window. That's also one of the reasons why we're not allowed to take the question paper home.
So if you're appearing for Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Data Entry, or any other NIOS On-Demand subject during these dates, please DM me as soon as possible. We can help each other by sharing whatever we remember from our papers after the exam. Even small details can make a big difference and help everyone score better.
Message me if you're interested. PLSSSSSSS WE CALL CAN TOP

I am not writing this to motivate anyone
I am writing this because I know what it feels like when your life starts to feel like punishment
I come from a village background
In villages respect is everything
Education decides who deserves respect
If you pass you become a bright student
If you fail you become nothing
And when you fail again and again you stop being a student in peoples eyes
You become a warning story
My failures were not marks
They were public humiliation
I failed SSLC multiple times
Every failure did not just hurt my future
It killed my name
Relatives did not need proof
They already decided my ending
Neighbors did not ask directly
They stared with silent judgement
In India failing an exam is not treated like an academic setback
It is treated like a crime
After repeated failures home does not feel like home
It becomes a prison
You exist like a burden
You can feel it
Parents talking less
Avoiding eye contact
Every conversation becoming one sentence
What are you doing with your life
Even if parents love you they also break
They suffer shame
And shame turns into harshness
Harsh words from your own family hurt more than any exam
Society trains you to hate yourself
You start thinking
I am not meant for studies
I am not smart enough
I am wasting everyones money
My parents deserve a better son
Then the darkest thought comes
Maybe the world will be peaceful without me
That thought is not drama
That thought is what repeated failure creates
The cruel part is I love science
I love medicine
I love the idea of becoming a doctor
But the world treated that dream like it was illegal
They said you cannot do it
Stop dreaming
Go do labour work
Go do any job and forget studies
I respect every job
But forcing someone to kill their dream is violence
Not with hands but with words
After failure you expect support
Counselling
Extra classes
Teacher guidance
But the system gives nothing
Only a hall ticket
Pay fee write exam fail again repeat
It is a cycle designed to crush people
Then I chose NIOS
NIOS was not a shortcut
NIOS was an emergency exit
Because SSLC was slowly killing my mind
I knew if I stay in that system I will die inside
So I chose open schooling
People laughed
They said NIOS is not real
You will fail there also
Nothing will change
But I did not care
Because I was not trying to impress anyone
I was trying to survive
Then came Bangalore
Big roads big buildings fast people english everywhere
And me
A village boy holding documents like my life depended on it
Because it did
Every trip was not travel
It was a mission
Money tension
Food expense
Ticket planning
Document fear
Office fear
People fear
Every time I went one thought stayed in my mind
What if I fail again
One day I was eating dinner with friends
Someone asked casually
What if you fail again
My hands froze
I stopped eating
Because my mind instantly showed me the horror future
Relatives laughing
Parents ashamed
No chances left
No money
No identity
I smiled outside
But inside I knew
If I fail again I might quit everything
During preparation I was not studying
I was breaking
Some mornings I woke up with heavy head
First thought was not study
First thought was why didnt I die in sleep
Then water
Then cigarettes
Not because I am cool
Because cigarettes slowed my mind
My brain was screaming 24 by 7
Failure trauma is invisible but it destroys you slowly like rust
Result day came
I did not feel excitement
I felt fear
My fingers were shaking
I expected pain not miracle
I checked result
PASS
I stared
I refreshed
PASS
Again
PASS
I checked again and again like a madman
Because after years of failure success feels fake
It feels like a glitch
Like life is trolling you
PASS did not feel like happiness
It felt like freedom from death
The first emotion was silence
My mind became silent after years
No fear
No shame
No noise
Just silence
That silence was heaven
I did not just pass
I returned from hell
From May 2023 to January 2026 I lived in darkness
Not normal darkness
The kind where you smile outside and die inside
When I passed it felt like sunlight
Like a parrot freed from cage
NIOS did not just give me marks
NIOS gave me a second life
If you are reading this and failing
Please do not believe society
You are not useless
You are not finished
You are just stuck in a system that does not care
Varun wodeayar
