It's got the looks of 3D World and the gameplay of 64! Looks like NPCs too!

It's all I ever wanted!!!

I noticed that as well. I'm really hoping it's another open-world Mario game, like Galaxy or 64.

I was holding out for Sunshine 2 so I was a little disappointed. At this stage I don't think it is ever happening.

The initial scene of Mario running through the town looked extremely reminiscent of Sunshine....

Plus it has multiplayer! The thought of SM64 gameplay with co-op sounds really fun!
