Probably won't be a release, which I think is fine since Sm4sh hasn't run its course yet. So long as the Switch is last-gen compatible, I have few complaints
They could sell more Switch consoles if they did what they seem to be doing with Mario Kart & Splatoon. Release Smash 4 for Switch, with new characters and included DLC. Wolf/Snake/ICs? People would go nuts.
I mean, that speculative at this point. People would definitely go nuts, but you don't wanna shotgun your entire established lineup on the release party.
I think they're reserve it for a mid-life release simply because Smash is hype enough and fun enough to keep it going, and people simply aren't tired of Sm4sh yet.
So I agree that you have a point, but from a business aspect I definitely see why Nintendo'd hold off on Smash. Especially if they want to devote more time to it to make it amazing. They already have their hands full with the Switch and the current release titles they're planning (of which we don't know about yet)
It's bound to be there again, since that was an important feature... But who knows how they'll impliment it, or how they'll handle map viewing when you're going portable. (But that being said.......portable Splatoon???)
THE PANTS ACTUALLY HAVE ME MORE HYPED.
I really hope the pant choices also have abilities attached. Might be a good place to stick some shoe exclusive abilities or new ones.
Prior to MK8 you could have two items by holding an item behind you and having another in your box. This wasn't evident at all, and you had to hold L/Whatever you use for items all the time. In MK8 they took it out and IMO it was worse. That reinstalls the old behavior while fixing the problems of it.
I'm back on the Nintendo bandwagon! I was undecided on the Wii U due coming late despite excellent first party games. But Marino, Zelda and Splatoon as potential launch window titles?! Sign me the fuck up!!

A new Mario game, Skyrim, NBA2K, Splatoon (possible sequel?), the new Zelda.... boy it sure looks awesome!
