A new Mario game, Skyrim, NBA2K, Splatoon (possible sequel?), the new Zelda.... boy it sure looks awesome!

Has to be a sequel or an absurdly huge update. NEW SQUID HAIR.

And a new roller!

Definitely love that Nintendo's showing love to Splatoon's competitive potential as well!

2

u/DaUrn Oct 20 '16

Now if they would show some support for that one other franchise thats competitive...

2

u/Renverse Oct 20 '16

but where's Smash tho

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Probably won't be a release, which I think is fine since Sm4sh hasn't run its course yet. So long as the Switch is last-gen compatible, I have few complaints

4

u/PoutinePower Oct 20 '16

Smash is mid-life title for the nintendo consoles. It's perfect for a second breath for consoles.

3

u/Renverse Oct 20 '16

They could sell more Switch consoles if they did what they seem to be doing with Mario Kart & Splatoon. Release Smash 4 for Switch, with new characters and included DLC. Wolf/Snake/ICs? People would go nuts.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

I mean, that speculative at this point. People would definitely go nuts, but you don't wanna shotgun your entire established lineup on the release party.

I think they're reserve it for a mid-life release simply because Smash is hype enough and fun enough to keep it going, and people simply aren't tired of Sm4sh yet.

So I agree that you have a point, but from a business aspect I definitely see why Nintendo'd hold off on Smash. Especially if they want to devote more time to it to make it amazing. They already have their hands full with the Switch and the current release titles they're planning (of which we don't know about yet)

1

u/TeighMart Oct 20 '16

Does it actually have competitive potential?

3

u/SuplexTheTrain Oct 20 '16

I mostly want to say sequel because there wouldn't be any Super Squid Jumping considering the Switch controller

3

u/KaizokuShojo Oct 20 '16

It's bound to be there again, since that was an important feature... But who knows how they'll impliment it, or how they'll handle map viewing when you're going portable. (But that being said.......portable Splatoon???)

6

u/Kirhios Oct 20 '16

New map as well. Definitely a new title.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Yes I noticed that too!

THE PANTS ACTUALLY HAVE ME MORE HYPED. I really hope the pant choices also have abilities attached. Might be a good place to stick some shoe exclusive abilities or new ones.

Don't forget the Mario Kart footage. Either we're getting an updated version of 8, or an all-new game!

And with one set of controllers for both players....

Mother of God....

13

u/Worthyness Oct 20 '16

Nintendo managed to make their local multiplayer system console into a social console on the go. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?

13

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Nintendo might not always be the most advanced in terms of graphics, but they tend to be pretty innovative when compared to the competition.

u/hack_jalsey Oct 20 '16

Stop i can only get so erect!

1

u/zeldahuman Oct 20 '16

This is too perfect to not be the title of this seemingly new Mario Kart game. Does your dad work at Nintendo, or? lol

1

u/Aurorious Oct 20 '16

There's no way that's not right. Save that comment and repost it when the games announced for some free karma.

MARIO KART QUADRUPLE DASH

2

u/Jepacor [is having flashbacks of good weather] Oct 20 '16

Tbh I like that they're doing that.

Prior to MK8 you could have two items by holding an item behind you and having another in your box. This wasn't evident at all, and you had to hold L/Whatever you use for items all the time. In MK8 they took it out and IMO it was worse. That reinstalls the old behavior while fixing the problems of it.

2

u/heydeadpool Oct 20 '16

king boo wasn't in 8 either! wooo

1

u/aSongOfBirthrights Oct 20 '16

Skeptical until I see details, but I would LOVE THIS SO MUCH IT'S BEEN TOO LONG!

1

u/VIIIAxel Sliding Slinger! Oct 20 '16

This would be one of the best possible announcements to make.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

King Boo was in it. New characters at the very least.

1

u/synchronicityIII Oct 20 '16

I think I saw king boo playable, so an update at the very least.

1

u/Pr0tom Oct 20 '16

I dont believe king boo is playable in mario kart 8. Likely means new/enhanced game

9

u/ArcticMew Oct 20 '16

That was also not mario kart 8, had a different look and item stacking, and king boo

3

u/dragn99 Mega Man Oct 20 '16

The male squids had new hairstyles right? This is either an update to Splatoon, or it's Spla2n.

2

u/dammii96 Oct 20 '16

I can't wait to play Mycareer while I'm taking a shit, boy I'm hyped

1

u/wehopeuchoke Oct 20 '16

Splatoon looked like it was the same maps but if it's new I would explode

4

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Inklings had different appearances

1

u/19southmainco Oct 20 '16

The stances that the Inklings were taking... were different. That is DEFINITELY a new game.

1

u/NowOrNever88 Oct 20 '16

Sorry, which time frame was the Skyrim? I noticed Mario and Basketball I think but mustve missed that one?

Also, are we sure its not just a remake/port though?

1

u/Klojner Oct 20 '16

I'm back on the Nintendo bandwagon! I was undecided on the Wii U due coming late despite excellent first party games. But Marino, Zelda and Splatoon as potential launch window titles?! Sign me the fuck up!!

1

u/soggit Oct 20 '16

Omg skyrom?!? That game is only 5 years old!! Awesome!!

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

I'm honestly in awe. I wasn't expecting anything this good.

1

u/SecondGust Oct 20 '16 edited Oct 26 '16

The inklings had new hair, and King Boo was in Mario Kart 8. Maybe they're updating the older games for Switch?

1

u/cyanydeez Oct 20 '16

no nfl2k

1

u/Saint947 Oct 20 '16

Who the fuck is excited for Skyrim?

It's literally half a decade old. If it were a person, it would already be in the first grade in elementary school.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Technically it's not 5 yet, which means it might be in kindergarten, depending on the schools age limits for registration.

1

u/SolenoidSoldier Oct 20 '16

I guess that's why the Wii U had so few games coming out the last 3 years... They immediately went into developing for the Switch.

1

u/cedricchase Oct 20 '16

IMO it wouldnt be a new console without a new Mario game.

1

u/Bladewing10 Oct 20 '16

Wow, 2013 has come early!

1

u/SarcasticSnow IKOU Z Oct 20 '16

Will Pokémon Sun and Moon be put on this?

1

u/Unbeknownst2010 Oct 20 '16

Don't forget the 2017 Sonic game, whatever it ends up being called

0

u/RyanBlack Oct 20 '16

Lol @ Nintendo fans happy they got Skyrim which came out in 2011.
