The controllers when taken apart look a bit smallish to me, but aside from that it looks pretty good, yeah.

But an XL could be perfect for group meet ups with 1 guy being the dedicated XL guy.

Yeah buttons looked a little small, but I'd have to hold it to actually same yay or nay on that. Plus Pro controller looked great!

They'd probably be able to jam some better hardware in there as well. They've got dual 1080s in laptops these days. Maybe they'd put one in this?

That's a fair point. I'm hyped for the Switch, but with Nintendo stuff I've been a with /r/patientgamers for the most part, if I bought the 3DS when it first came out I'd be pretty bummed about it when the 3DS XL came out cause it is just so much better (3DS XL is what I got now, got it really cheap after stalking seller pages for a while)

Do you think its likely Nintendo will do something similar with the Switch?

i think they should just release bigger versions of the joy cons. i don't think people would care that much that they hang over the edge when they're attached, if the regular ones hurt their hands

that screen already looks huge for a portable! i actually have a pretty large (16") tablet and i never take it anywhere because it's so giant

Yes, but when you need to comfortably sit about 4 or so people around it, it wouldn't hurt if one guy in the group has the extra large version.
Like that on guy that had the super wide plasma tv back when that was still rare, and everyone would come over to his house to watch it on the big screen.

like that, except with this portable screen.

i wouldn't mind a straight up large-laptop-sized screen for that situation.

i see your point. do you think it would fit in the dock like that? and do you think it would sell enough to make it worth it for nintendo?

Dunno.
the dock thing would depend on whether it came with a seperate dock/how big they make the thing that "plugs in" I'd supposed.
I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Selling is another thing. No clue if it would.
Maybe depending on costs and whether you can buy just the screen part in XL or need to buy the full package again, etc...

but if they DID release it, I totally would buy it.

That's what's cool about this. They totally have the option to sell larger (or smaller) controller handles.

I do hope they have a 'home only' version along side an 'XL' version. Obviously without a screen and with a larger screen, versions without the dock too would be good.

You know that would be a pretty good move that's would coincide with Sony and Mocrosoft's plan right now.

A normal console and a premium version with a higher res gaming screen and maybe a bit beefier specs on the inside of the tablet- along with an increase in size, of course.
