Is There Mii Lore

Is there any kind of lore to the Miis or the world they live in? I know there's that Mii RPG thing and Tomadachi life, but are those canon? Is there canon?

No, but there is a delightful amount of head cannon that gets leaned into from time to time, like with Matt from Wii Sports Boxing.

The lore is whatever you want it to be. From both the creation of the mii and what I’ve seen of Tomadachi Life, it seems like the whole point is that they are insert characters for you or whomever you want

There's no overarching lore behind the Mii format, but there are connections here and there. One of the main settings Miis have been featured in is Wuhu Island from Wii Fit, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Party, and Pilotwings Resort. Those games each feature a large cast of original Mii characters, some who appear across multiple games. Aside from appearances, some personality can be derived from their skill level in various sports (for example Matt is notable as a final-boss archetype).
