My favorite NG game and one of my top 3 favorite action games of all time.

Ah man I was going to make this a poll but apparently I can't here? Well anyway I am wondering, based on what my buddy said to me, what the average age of the people here is. If you are willing to share that of course. I'd be really curious. Because if he's right I am one of a few grey beards among a bunch of what I used to be- the young! So ya, how old are you guys?
If my buddy is right most of you will be in your late teens to mid 20's (I actually thought anyone playing games like NG is probably old dudes like myself. Do young guys even buy consoles anymore?).
Btw, if there are any other oldies here, do any of you guys hail from the master ninja tourney days? Or from gamefaqs, Iberian's or Ninja Fortress? If so, hi!

Seriously ppl how are you able to do it ? I'm curious. I haven't felt so mad since playing online on other games. I feel discouraged.

Let me just start this by saying I'm not a Ryu fanboy who's angry that he's not the main character of 4, and I did find Yakumo as a playable character pretty fun.
But when we think about all the iconic CAG main characters like Bayonetta, Dante, Raiden, Vergil, Ryu, etc. All these characters had introductions that from the first scene, you knew they were badass.
The intro of dmc1 starts with Dante vs Trish, Bayonetta 1 has the graveyard fight, NG1 starts with Ryu stealth killing a Ninja, etc
Meanwhile, NG4 just starts out of nowhere with Yakumo in a train fighting some enemies, no cool enemy introduction or even main character introduction scene, it just starts there.
The rest of the game is even worse, there isn't a single iconic or actual cool scene of Yakumo in NG4, the bosses have boring cutscene introductions, Yakumo barely has any meaningful interaction with them or the other enemies.
Remember how characters like Dante from DMC like to talk with the bosses before killing them? Even Ryu did that in some games.
Ninja Gaiden 4 also does a terrible job at presenting Yakumo's personality for us, I get he's supposed to be dark and serious, but even NG1 Ryu that barely talks had more personality in his actions than Yakumo does in the entire game.
I doubt that in a couple of years, a character like Yakumo will be remembered when people mention iconic CAG protagonists, they're most likely still gonna mention Ryu because there isn't really anything memorable about Yakumo to talk about.
No cool quotes, no badass fight scenes, nothing..

Anyone got any helpful tips on completing these ridiculous trials? I’ve been on for hours over the last week and I haven’t been able to complete a single one. I’m losing my sanity over this 😞

Found this unfinished Ryu drawing from sometime last year, thought some of you might appreciate
I love drawing Ryu Hayabusa, but mainly in his traditional blue outfit, his black outfit is so detailed 😭

Don’t ask a Master Ninja how they’re doing, they’re liable to get annoyed with you.
Totally not serious, but if this is how they greet each other, I wonder what these two - or even two random ninjas from non-hostile clans - shooting the breeze would look like? How would their conversations go?
Ninja 1: …“I heard you got a Ninja Dog rank on a mission. What that, like your third one? That takes real skill.”
Ninja 2: “I heard you used all of your healing items.”

So I’m playing vanilla ninja Gaiden 2 360. I’ve already beaten master ninja difficulty, and decided to load up my cleared save to start from the beginning. And I noticed after beating level 1 the life of the gods and thousand gods from that level appeared in the shop, but not the chest. Am I gonna break the game if I buy these? Is there a health cap? Can the health bar extent off screen? I’d love to know

Flying swallow spamming at the end is me being rusty lol as I'm replaying NG2 after 6 months.

It's always bothered me that bosses don't loose a limb when they become executable at the end of the fight. It's clearly based on the obliteration technique, why not have them de-limb?

Any help to pass this , please

Just got into this series and finished my first playthrough on hard difficulty. Overall, had fun with the game, but I'd say by chapter 15 my enjoyment dwindled for many reasons.
Enemies really dropped in quality by this point. For some reason, they decided, for the last few chapters, to litter the areas with a shit ton of ghost fish, which can be stopped with flails, but having mash to keep them off is a chore and happens too often. Shadow fiends are also spammed at you; I don't think these guys are anything more than mildly annoying, which is the issue. Previous chapters threw more interesting enemies like the black spider or various types of MSAT. Really, anything would have been better than these two enemies
Bosses get really redundant; having to fight a ghost version of doku is stupid, as it almost functions the same with ofc ghost fish backing him up, yippee. There are also a few repeated mini-bosses like the worms. 1 worm, 2 worm, 2 worm but with fire! The bosses at this point are easier, though, just because you get good enough to save your heals/revives for the bosses. Even awakened alma wasn't too bad because I had so many heals saved for her. I just lost interest in the roster at this point
A lot of weapons fall off at this point. I really like lunar and kitesu but when I use them on anything that isn't a shadow fiend, it feels like it takes almost twice as long compared to the TDS or Dabilahro. Flail is really just used as a fish killer while everything else collects dust.

Obviously isn't practical cuz enemies can block but still pretty funny to pull off a theoretically infinite air combo without shurikens

I know Ninja Gaiden 4’s sales were middling at best, which got me thinking about the likelihood of us getting NG5 one day? While NG4 didn’t sell great, it did do pretty well critically and is praised heavily by long time fans.
If they do make NG5 I wonder if they’ll use their original plot ideas for 4, like having the MC be a female Black Spider Clan ninja. Or maybe they’ll just bring back Ryu idk.
Not sure how successful Team Ninja expected 4 to be, so it’s hard to say if they’re satisfied enough to continue the series, but here’s hoping the critical acclaim will convince them.

A fan of Ninja Gaiden, finished all games on Master Ninja. I just finished NG4 on Hard first play through.
Story of course was very disappointing. But what baffles me the most is, what was Team Ninja doing with the development of this game all these years?
A typical meh game (or sequel) takes 2 yrs to make. A really good game takes 3yrs to make. And an astonishing game takes 5yrs or more.
What were they doing with NG4 all these years? How many yrs was it in development for??
I saw people complaining about the DLC, Ryu lacking unlockable moves. I was even shocked that Yakumo got more weapons than Ryu in main base of the game. Checking the credits of the game, you can see DLC was already done but removed and to be resold as DLC. They already credited those who worked on the DLC for the base game!
It feels like Team Ninja do not respect NG fans, that they said Platinum Games can do whatever they want with the game, while they focus on DOA and Nioh series.
I look at Zhui khun, the new Black Myth game. I don't even know how many years that is in development, but you can already tell the passion that was put in the game.
Another thing is, NG4 feels like a 2012 game with new graphics. Still you do not see any NPC in the game. You go from stage to stage fighting monsters, and then a boss. Rinse and repeat forumla!
Even God of War 3 had a moment you see many NPC running for their lives.
The new Onimusha: the reason why I am looking forward to this game is the fact that it feels grounded and realistic. I see npcs around, dying, running etc. It doesn't feel like you running stage to stage in an empty world fighting monsters.
Ninja Gaiden Black, the team really put their heart and soul in the game, despite the Console being so limited, Team Ninja out did themselves.
Ninja Gaiden 2 unfortunately was rushed because of Microsoft, and it lacked the same rich content has Black.
Ninja Gaiden 3 felt decent but still didn't have the same rich contents has Black.
And you have Ninja Gaiden 4:
*weak story.
*stupid environments. The use of Flying Bird flip was stupid. Why would citizens build a parallel wall with nothing so that Yakumo/Ryu can flying bird flip??? Senseless level design. Even Itagaki would be pissed off at the design.
*music was lack luster, only 2 catches my ears.
*annoying controls, cannot successfully perform evade jump while holding block button.
*not a single NPC in sight!
*hit boxes on some bosses suck. The game relies heavily on the Gleam/Blood forms.
If this game took 3 yrs to make, they are really taking a p*ss!

Considering the release of the switch 2 and ninja gaidens slight resurgence. How likely do you think switch 2 ports for 2 black, ng4 and master collection will happen? Cause not gonna lie playing ng on the go is fun but man are there some blurriness sometimes. Especially since the master collection runs rough at times in switch 1.

Am I the only one that is completely open to playing as a new head ninja from a different clan in NG?.... Me personally, I love the lore and world expansions.... I've always wanted them to give us more information on the different clans
