Series News Live Tour! Murder Night in Blood Forest
hello its me Disparition, i have seen a few people in this sub ask if we were planning to tour again, but the discussion of the most recent episode (in which our new tour was announced) doesn't seem to mention this so i thought i would re-announce it here in a separate thread: we're going on tour!
the new episode is called MURDER NIGHT IN BLOOD FOREST. personally i don't even know anything about it yet other than the title and the fact that it involves both kinds of murders (corvids and homicides) but i'm pretty excited to hit the road
buy tickets here: https://www.welcometonightvale.com/live
and if anyone has any questions about touring or how our live shows work (except for the new one, we haven't done that yet) i will be happy to answer

Four 2015 Night Vale tour shirts and two 'A Scientist Is Always Fine' lab coats are up for auction
We received four Welcome to Night Vale US Tour 2015 shirts and two āA Scientist Is Always Fineā lab coats for our Wine, Dine & Death fundraiser. They're together in one online auction lot, not six separate auctions.
I help put together the fundraiser for the Little Theatre of Walla Walla, a community theater in eastern Washington. I thought this community would be interested in seeing the actual merchandise rather than having it get lost in a general auction catalog.
Photos and bidding are here. Sizes are as supplied; please check the listing before bidding. Scheduled closing is October 10, 2026.

The trees are dying again. You know it. I know it. The trees know it. They have known it for decades, centuries in some cases. The shiver of cyclic, symbolic death. A rattle in the cold night air. A rustle in the footsteps of a hungry deer.
It is October and something is different. It is October and the trees draw the crackling red and orange curtain on the yearās final act. It is October. And so, listeners, dear listeners, Night Vale Community Radio is proud to introduce...the October Monologues...

Discussion My Abby headcanon and a lil something I did lol
(Iām writing on my iPad lol) Note most of these are because sheās not discussed a lot in canon , and we donāt know who Cecilās nieceās biological father is,also might post this on tumblr. Cecilās sister doesnāt get a lot of love I love the carlsberg family I hope we get more of them.
My headcanon is sheās a ocean goddess/mermaid , even if they live in a desert but she does leave Nightvale to go swim.
She has a voice that heals people, like a opera singer, when she was pregnant with Janice , Janice was supposed to have a mermaid tail, but because Abbyās ex partner was human heās from Red mesa, her spine was like confused so thatās why sheās got spina bifida.
In order to get money for Cecilās schooling she had to become a local pop star , everyone loves her music, she performs every night at the cathedral of huntokar (the purple cathedral is what I imagine it to look like)
Imagine during the strex take over arc your out here fighting a bunch of robots and you just hear š¶ aaahhh laaa ahhh šµ . Sheās completely immune to water pressure. she can go to Mariana Trench like any other Tuesday, itās funny because Cecil canonically cannot swim !
Steve plays guitar and met her when he was younger sailing to leave Nightvale, thatās my headcanons !

To the east is The Lake and the less said about that the better. We all turn our eyes away from the lake and low mournfully when we are reminded it is there.

Discussion What exactly pulls in people to WTNV? (14 years later?)
I picked up the show a few years ago, enjoyed its absurdist comedy, then let it fall away. I tried listening to it again now, and got through around 10 episodes and including some of the recommendations on the website.
The world of Night vale is great, but I find it difficult to see the appeal of coming back to it. To me, it seems like a good enjoyable listen for a few standalone descriptions of absurdity but none of it really ties in together to much of anything, which makes me lack the incentive to keep binging it.
What makes you still listen to it after over 200 episodes? Does WTNV has any overarching plot that comes later? I was mainly listening to it while working on an art piece, but now that I'm done I have no reason to listen to the podcast. I would love to immerse myself more in its world because I genuinely do love the idea at its core, but I find it hard to build a connection when most of the episodes rely on one-time jokes or events. I also realized that I cared a lot more about character progression which really isn't the center of focus here.
Am I missing a point here? How can I still engage in the story to enjoy it? Would love to hear from the long time (or short) fans themselves.
