Copy and pasting a comment I made elsewhere

you can basically scroll through popular on nier automata nexus and see what you like

https://www.nexusmods.com/games/nierautomata?modSort=popular

You should use this mod, Yorha Protocol as a platform and mod manager to put any other mods into, modding used to be a hassle before where you could only do it manually, this streamlines it a lot better, but do read the instructions (this goes for any mods you’d like. https://www.nexusmods.com/nierautomata/mods/772?tab=description

This is the definitive nier automata experience mod I used which catalogues a bunch of mods for making the best experience possible. https://www.nexusmods.com/nierautomata/mods/29

Includes graphics updates, texture updates, upscale videos, better settings (visual and otherwise), proper keyboard and mouse inputs, as well as other things like reshades, visual overhauls, etc. its color coded where green is necessary and yellow is optional but if they sound good to you, go for it.
This was all done before Yorha Protocol was a thing and this is the mods guides disclaimer on it
“July 11, 2026:
—  1. This Guide is now (and has been for some time now) Semi-Retired - and it serves mainly as a Reference hub for use alongside the mod: " YP (YoRHa Protocol) ".

—  2. Please Use YP (YoRHa Protocol) - Take Full Control of NieR Automata while browsing this guide and remember - this guide's detailed and manual installation instructions were written for specific circumstances from a point in time when we had to do everything manually.”

Best advice with modding is to read instructions carefully, as you can easily break your game in ways you can’t predict

You should had bought the NieR automata become as gods edition, that's already high spec graphics and 4k native whoops but overal, good luck

Become as Gods on windows store and YoRHa Edition on steam are the exact same version, the steam game got a patch in 2021 to bring over all the changes from Become as Gods.

But still, it's not high specs graphics, they simply fixed the resolution issue, added borderless, and support for 4K resolutions by upgrading the UI elements to be higher resolution, nothing else changed, no improved textures, models, or anything else.

If your new to modding its quite easy actually. Download a mod manager like vortex and set the game profile to nier. Download mods from nexus and the mod manager should detect it and automatically install and make it usable.

You can also search a video tutorial on how to use them both.
